I listen to podcasts, a lot of the artists don't even live in America and speak much English, and I have no reason to think they're treated poorly. Spanish artist Guillem March for example, speaking of Catwoman. And I'd say Asian American born in Korea artist Jim Lee counts for doing pretty well.
there is an article in Ars Marginal about it and how a number of minority writers and artists shared stories about how editorial likes to keep the "color" on staff to a minimum
