There's a saying of going out on top. The JSA didn't do that

Not denigrating the previous version, but just pointing out how the same stories, with the same emotional weight, could NOT be told if DC just plopped the JSA into Earth 2. The JSA was about the passing of power from one generation to the next. A story of a family, but that’s not the story Earth 2 is telling. And the superhero generational family story would just not work in Earth 2. E2 is telling a different story. A better story (if sales and buzz are any measure anyway). New 52 brought me back into comics after over a decade hiatus and Earth 2 is the title that I look forward to most each month.

"Sales and buzz" are a darn POOR measure of whether something is "better". "Hot", yes. But not necessarily better.

Hooray for you. New 52 was what made me decide I wanted nothing to do with (mainstream) DC comics any longer. I tried following Demon Knights, but the pace was sooooooo slooooooow. I tried Earth-2, but between the literally world-wrecking opening, the shrill blatant insistence that "This is not your father's JSA", the pointless changes to characters just to make them "new" and "now" and "different", the "One Cosmic Horror After Another" approach, and above all the slooooooow slooooooow slooooooow pace, I just couldn't maintain any interest.

Besides, within about five years DC will be so desperate for sales again that they'll change everything - again.
Everything I state is JUST MY OPINION. Take what you like and leave the rest.

Better IS a relative term from a personal taste stance. But while you cite the “world destroying first issue” as one of the reasons why YOU don’t like the title, it is exactly the reason why so many people loved it. It was a TRUE fresh slate with no need to work in the last 75 years of continuity and legacy characters (many who were not that good to begin with).

Personally, this book has me seroiusly considering checking out some pre-Nu52 JSA runs like Robinson's or Johns' which is something I was really against doing originally since I felt like it was a waste of time and money. Now I cant get enough of this characters.
I am not an Avengers fan nor an X-Men fan.I am a Marvel fan for life.
Check out Gambit by James Asmus. You won't regret it!
