It's sort of like last week where nothing was really that spectular, just good. Swamp Thing, Animal Man, and World's Finest were just good. Also, my Dial H comic didn't come in, so what can I do? Though unlike last week, my pick of the week isn't a non DC book (since all of the non DC books I read this week, Avengers to Punisher War Zone were all subpar).

So with no real strong competition, Detective Comics is my comic book of the week!

Next week should be better for me (Saucer Country and Batman both are out).

I only bought three books but they were all great. For my buys at least, 100% quality from DC this week.

From best to "worst" (I liked them all):

    1. Action Comics - a landmark issue, just mindblowingly good. A vast improvement over the last few issues that validates the entire run.
    2. Dial H - not crazy about Lapham's art but the villain looks insane and I liked the Dial mythology / backstory
    3. Earth 2 - very well done for a filler issue. Good world building and characterization for Alan.

Action Comics #15 was the best issue in comics this week. Nevermind just DC.

My vote goes to Earth 2 as well.

    Breakdown:

Earth 2 *****- Solid story and art this month. E2 continues to be the best team book DC is putting out right now. The rich world-building and vibrant characters continue to hook me into the book.

Legends of the Dark Knight ****1/2- A great story dealing with the lives Batman has touched bookended by an appearance by a more classically themed Joker. Great stuff here.

Batwing ****- A strong conclusion to the Father Lost story arc and a strong start for Batwing's new writer. It's not an easy thing to come onto a book in the midst of a story arc but Fabian N. (sorry terrible at spelling his name) manages to tell a good story here. Looking forward to seeing what else he has in store for David.

Worlds' Finest ***1/2- A decent story that seems to be moving the book forward after several issues that didn't really do so. I especially loved the interactions between Helena and Damian even if Damian seems to be a tad out of character from how he's being portrayed in B&R. First time I've actually cared about the Damian since the N52 began.

Detective Comics ***- A well crafted story to be sure with all the required beats for a good Batman story, which is why I gave it three stars, but it just isn't clicking with me for some reason. I find myself not caring about what's happening in the story and there is never a time that I felt that Batman was in danger from Clayface or Ivy. My interest in the title is waning and after the next issue I'm going to leave it for a bit and see if my feelings change.

Worlds' Finest for me. I just enjoy the characters. And the art, as always, is great.

Human Bomb as runner-up. I've been enjoying all the FF stuff.

And Smallville, along with the other digital stuff. I'm enjoying all of that.
