He becomes a trainer of his own free will, and the whole of battling using his pokemon with other trainers seriously, what type of pokemon does he focus and using and capturing? How far does he go, strictly speaking, as a pokemon trainer? What would his favorite pokemon be?

In case your wondering, he gets to fight pokemon by himself for fun too, and train his pokemon by sparring with them.

Well, Yujiro can definitely fight a lot of them. Though, any of the legendary Pokemon would probably be too much for him. They pack too much firepower.

Machamp would be a good starting Pokemon for him to train. However, Yujiro's not exactly the merciful type so his training might end up killing them. No joke.

Considering Yujiro's fighting philosophy pretty much revolves around being superior in almost every area to his opponent, I don't think he or his Pokemon are going to do very well in the higher level competitions. Once he's outgunned, out-skilled or out-prepped, his adaptability gets called into question.

And there are plenty that can, it ways he couldn't hope to fight against.

Part of me likes the idea of him making an effort to try and not be abusive, if he's going to take being a trainer seriously, he's going to have to do things the way they need to be done, and that's by taking his time with his pokemon.

Conkeldurr has base-140 Attack, which is the highest of any Fighting-type, including Legendaries. <Guts> is an ability which boosts Attack by one stage if the mon gets one of the major statuses (burn, freeze, paralyze, poisoned, badly poisoned, sleep) while nullifying the Attack drop modifier which results from burn status. <Guts> Conkeldurr is a pretty terrifying physical hitter if properly raised and equipped, especially since it can learn Drain Punch (parasitic healing) and Mach Punch (+1 priority STAB).

So you're saying that would be one of his top pokemon? What else would he go for? Along with this, while it's been said that Machamp would be a good starter for him, how about something weaker and unevolved?
