I added a couple more suggestions, especially for Gaiman. :p

And I don't think it's a perception problem. Even at his best Miller cannot compete with Moore, Morrison and Gaiman.

Gaiman is a better writer than Morrison, but I like what Morrison does better. Moore is great often, but some of his work I dislike. I don't like Miller at all apart from his first Daredevil run and Ronin.

I go Morrison>Gaiman>>Moore and I don't count Miller at all.

I think Gaiman is a better writer for children and teens. No mean feat as it can be challenging trying to write in an engaging way for a younger audience.

Best to worst are Gaiman>Moore>>>>>>Miller>>>>>>>>>>>Morrison for me. Gaiman and Moore are excellent (Loved Sandman and V ), Miller is okay (Year One is my absolute favorite Batman story) and Morrison just isn't my cuppa most of the time (although I do like both Final Crisis and his Batman and Robin run).

Beyond the matter of personal bias, let's just compare some of their main works. I'll limit myself to only 10 from Moore and Morrison and not mention Gaiman's novels.

Moore: Watchmen, V for Vendetta, From Hell, Swamp Thing, Miracleman, Promethea, LXG, Top Ten, Supreme, The Killing Joke

Morrison: The Filth, The Invisibles, Animal Man, Doom Patrol, We3, Batman, X-Men, JLA, Superman, Flex Mentallo

Gaiman: Sandman, Death, Books of Magic, Black Orchid, 1602, Batman, Miracleman, Eternals

Miller: Daredevil, DKR, Year One, Sin City, Ronin, 300, DKSA, ASBAR (not fair to only mention his 80s work :p)

    Compare those.

Yeah, Sandman is junk, his children stuff is just superior.

I think that Miller has the least impressive, but I don't underestimate his skill as an artist. Especially Daredevl, TDKR, and Sin City. If anything he has that on the others.

    Moore-Gaiman-Morrison-Miller in my estimation!

Definetely Miller. Even at his best he never really trancsends the way the other do. Not to mention he is in a 20 year slump that shows no signs of ending.
    Sequential Anarchy

Current favorite ongoing series: Fatale, Saga, Judge Dredd, Batman Inc, Batwoman, Daredevil

I remember doing this poll at the DC Message Boards a few years back, and Morrison was the weakest. There was a time in which all the talk was Moore vs. Miller (even after Sandman).

The most recent thing in which it all came down to Miller vs. Moore was http://www.ign.com/articles/2005/09/...c-book-writers However, it might have been because of the brackets.
