Terror Titans was a 6 issue mini-series spin off from Teen Titans written by Sean McKeiver focusing on the "Dark Side Club". A plot arc in DC leading up to Final Crisis. Basically, it was a gladiator pit where teen heroes were put under Granny Goodness' (Reincarnated -- don't ask) care to be brainwashed with some anti-life prototype stuff and fight each other for the amusement of the villains and the betting of the crowd. Sometimes it ended in death. Sometimes it didn't. It showed up in an issue of Birds of Prey (no kills), mentioned at the end of Infinity Inc's end (1 death sorta) and in a prior Teen Titan's arc which set this up (1 kill of a new character done off screen).

It featured Rose Wilson (Daughter of Slade), the Ravager, as the primary lead, and a member of the titular group with her own agenda. She joins the fights, but doesn't want to kill. The main villain, Clock King, takes over the pit (as most of the heads were human or killed prior to his arrival, CK killed those that didn't agree with his takeover) and arranges a no-kill tournament to keep things running while he alters the brainwashing to have his "Martyr Militia" be loyal to him and him alone.

The makeup of the tournament only had a few 'important' characters in it. Aquagirl (the third one, future Teen Titan), Argent (former Teen Titan), Terra (cult favorite supporting cast mate of Power Girl and holder of her own mini) and Gypsy (former Justice League and Birds of Prey Member) aside from Rose. Others were either created for the series (about 5), or supporting cast members in non-cult hit books (Fever of Vol. III of Doom Patrol, Sapphire of Power Company, Hardrock of Superboy and the Ravers). Static Shock made his DCU debut in those pages. Only Static really gets more than a few lines and the fights are . . . okay and non-lethal. There's one other major character in it, but it's a spoiler I honestly wouldn't want to ruin.

Again, the total body count is only 3 -- Fever, Pop-rocket (new) and Disruptor (one of the villains, not in the tournament).

Contrasted with Arena, and Hopeless' first interview stating "There's going to be a lot of Murder in Murderworld" (near direct quote) and we have rather different beasts.

The preview pages released so far are not that good and do not understand the core of Hazmat's character (she is sad and angry due to loss, not as some core aspect of her personality). It's also poorly phrased ("I've always been a Hater"). For something he claims to be character driven, it does not bode well when he misunderstands a fundamental aspect of one of the more recently created ones and one of the most popular.

What's been revealed about the set up of the scenario (30 Days long) raises more questions than is healthy for this.
Pretty much this. I fail to see why killing these guys instead of leaving them in limbo and maybe becoming young avengers or getting another series is so hard. It also seems to me that if Nico and Chase die, we probably won't see the runaways get their own series again.

    Good luck with that.
And to answer the thread question. All characters the thread creator likes best, should die a meaningless, degrading and stupid death.
    turnaround is always fair.

and I think I found the most stupid thread ever. And regarding some stuff in here, thats saying something.

Hipster means pretty much "person who likes things I do not like" in this case rather than the actual definiton of "person who feigns interest or disinterest in a topic to only appear cool."

Because in his mind, no TRUE COMIC FAN could ever not like the top name, big selling titles.

Why anyone would try to appear cool on a comic book message board is beyond me.

Well I can say that I've had the pleasure of enjoying quite a few of the mentions there. I was just surprised by some of the names on your list, considering they're not exactly Marvel royalty. Would you be willing to give any of those say, Waid's DD or Rucka's Punisher a go, or are you just opposed to supporting those characters period?

    If so, why?

Believe me, I think the Marvel U is pretty stagnant, but if the quality's there I say it's at least worth a look even if it isn't breaking new ground.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

I got a similar reading list, so I thought I'd answer too.

I'm actually starting to read Rucka's Punisher (I'm hoping on with the current mini of him battling the Avengers). Rucka's always been a great writer. I've also heard good things on Waid's DD, but concept trumps a bit here. I filter by concept first and foremost when looking for new things. Don't know if that's how mugiwara does it, but that's what I do.

There's always diamonds in the rough. Pak's Hulk/Hercules runs are the ones that stands out most for me.

I like that we now have a whole new thread to answer to.
Here is the list of the people I'd want to include, and the order and method I'd like to see them killed :
    1. Greymalkin: Buried alive, that way he can come full circle.
    2. Chinese Pixie rip-off : burnt alive. Or asphyxiated.
    3. Eye-Boy : thrown in a lava pit.
    4. Patriot : lapidated.

We normally do not discuss moderating within threads, but what the hell...

These two threads, which may or may not have been posted solely to troll the Avengers forum, have generated more complaints in the past day than any other threads in recent memory to the point that Will.S and I have become taxed beyond our reasonable limits. The topics are certainly related, if not completely interchangeable, and a merged thread will allow a broader discussion about the book and its (potential) characters.

The alternative was to close both threads and end both discussions and be done with them.

If you have any further moderation questions feel free to PM us, otherwise additional off-topic posts will be deleted.

    Thanks.

It's not that I can't enjoy their stories. I can appreciate Slott's writing on Spider Man, Aaron on Hulk, or Aja's art on Hawkeye. But after years reading about those characters, I don't care about what happens to them anymore. And I grew more and more tired of the returns to statut quo (like Fisk being Kingpin again or the Kree and Inhumans back to the basis).
When I read Avengers Academy or The Order, I knew that anything could happen to the characters (but I didn't expect half of them to be killed, which was more X-Static thing) and that they probably won't be back to statut quo. That's not something I can taste with Spider Man or Thor.

And recently, I just can't stand anymore to see recent characters going into limbo or being killed as soon as their series is cancelled. It makes me hate the established characters for overshadowing them. The movie Avengers and the Not New, Not Different X-Men who monopilise spots in every team, or Dr Strange, T'Challa and Silver Surfer who overshadowed Voodoo, Shuri and Stardust, etc.

So, while knowing this will never happen, I wish all those old, established characters were dead or away, so Shuri, the Future Fundation, the Lights, The Initiative Teams or the Blue Marvel could become major players in the MU.

To reply about DD and Punisher. I read a bit of Waid DD, and hated it, but I enjoyed the little I've read from Aaron's Punisher.

As an addendum to what Matt has said, the conversations were beginning to really overlap and become more about each other.

As it stands the threads will remain merged but will continue for as long as it remains civil.
