I really have to agree with this, after seing the reactions to First Wave and Wonder Woman from some people and the actually reading the books.

I haven't read either book, but hasn't Azzarello's WW run almost been universally praised? That's what it seems like, although I haven't paid too much attention.

I was trying to go for a joke :D I was referring to fanatics that attacked him for changing stuff from the original, ignoring the quality of the work. That went on for a while with WW. Now they mostly shut up.

I would rather see DC stretch their legs and create "The League of Extraordinary Gentlefolk" and have them have a crossover between V (back from the dead and revealed to be a Brad Pitt look alike) and Nite Owl 3 who grim and gritty and like Batman but not. His parents should definitely get shot in an alley by Ozymandias.

Most of those creators need to be on ongoing books (get Amanda Conner and Jae Lee on SOMETHING!). Others like Darwyn Cooke should be used for original graphic novels.
    Recommended Comics:
    Star Wars: Dark Times,
Richard Stark's Parker by Darwyn Cooke,
Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye

A lot of Wonder Woman fans hated it because it basically destroyed the Amazons and WW's origin and killed off one of the 3 WW supporting characters (which WW herself shrugged off by the time of the next issue). Most people who liked it didn't consider those things that precious and saw that it was a very good book and WW has never reached such popularity but you still see people raging over it at times.

WW origins. The character has had such a muddled continuity from who knows how many reboots over the past +/-70 years that it was probably wiser to start with a completely new slate. And I confess, I didn't buy it at first because it looked so violent and un-Wonder Woman-like, but after hearing enough praise (and getting annoyed / bored with some other New 52 titles I had bought instead early on), I broke down and tried it . . . and it was good.

It wasn't the Wonder Woman I once knew and enjoyed, but . . . it was a Wonder Woman that seemed like a needed breathe of fresh air.

Really? Never? So the new series has been selling 500,000+ copies an issue, not the 60,000-70,000 Diamond has been reporting? How odd.
