Default Thunder Emperor Zeon - Durability

Right, remember the bullets from the speed section? Well before he gets his head in the game and starts catching them, Zeon takes a fair few hits. Before I show the hits and the damage it does to him, a little context.

These bullets are capable of blasting straight through Zeon's building busting lightning attacks with no problem. Please note the strength it shows that Zeon is able to catch these bullets with his bare hands like it's nothing. This scan is also a nifty speed feat, even though he's surprised, Zeon still reacts and raises his arms to block the bullet when it's like a metre and a half from him. Also, durability, note how he's only bleeding a little bit and otherwise unhurt.

Now, I know what you're thinking; "But Nik, that bullet has just blasted through a building busting level lightning storm. Surely it would have lost some of its energy so Zeon would be less hurt,"

That is a good point. So allow me to counter with Zeon getting shot in the arm by surprise. Note that there he's more surprised than hurt.

He then proceeds to use the strategy of tank the bullets to triangulate their origin. Note how he's only superficially bleeding here. His fighting ability is utterly unaffected by the hits. Even then he takes another hit he's totally unprepared for and is only superficially hurt.

Here's the sum damage done to him when being hit by a Dioga Class Spell that explicitly did nothing to defend against: Scratch Zero. Zeon is ridiculously durable.

He also wears a mantle that is even more absurdly durable than he is. He can also manipulate it's shape with his mind. Wrapping an ordinary human in it allows him to survive a vastly powered up Baoh Zakeruga attack with no damage. He can also use it to bounce Gigano class spells with no effort.

Even taking Baoh Zakeruga to the face deliberately, isn't enough to kill him. It just knocks him out for about 30 seconds and hurts him enough that he's immobilised.

So yeah, incredibly durable. Tanks building buster+ attacks with no damage and hits from attacks that blow through said building buster+ level attacks with only superficial bleeding. In fact, throughout the manga, Zeon is only ever significantly hurt by Baoh Zakeruga, which is arguably the strongest spell in the series.

Lastly, we'll be doing an overview of Zeon's Techniques of which he has many.

Default Thunder Emperor Zeon - Techniques

So, there's a whole lot of techniques to cover here so I'll hit all of the big ones that are unique to him.

As would be expected, and indeed shown in other scans in the thread, Zeon has access to the core lightning blast techniques that Gash has; Zakeru, Zakeruga, Teozakeru and Ganzu Zakeru. That's a basic lightning blast, lightning beam, massive lightning blast and rapid fire lightning balls respectively.

Zeon has a whole lot of cool unique techniques though which we'll cover here:

    - Jaruo Zakeruga: A powered up version of the basic Zakeruga lightning beam attack. Zeon fires a ring that immediately fires around 10 - 12 separate beams (the number varies a little) that home in the enemy, attacking from all sides.

    - Raajia Zakeru: An omnidirectional version of the basic Zakeru lightning blast that we saw obliterate a windmill earlier. Handy for clearing out large groups of enemies.

    - Reedo Dirasu Zakeruga: Zeon manifests a large yo-yo made of lightning that cuts through his enemies. He is able to freely control the trajectory of this attack and can engage in duels with it.

    - Sorudo Zakeruga: Zeon manifests a giant lightning sword. This sword explodes upon hitting it's target for massive damage.

    - Ziga Dirasuu Zakeruga: Zeon's strongest spell. When summoned, it takes a few second to charge and fire so there is a small delay on it. It is effectively an enormous lightning cannon. This spell was created by Zeon himself specifically to counter Baoh Zakeruga and it does pretty well, only losing when Zeon and his partner Dufeaux essentially lose faith in their convictions and give up. It is a ridiculously powerful attack.

Zeon also has some special skills that are not named skills:

    - Memory Control: As briefly mentioned earlier, Zeon can both take, store and return the memories of people. He stole Gash's memories and then returns them, along with memories that Gash himself didn't originally have implying that he can also unlock dormant memories at will.

    - Hair Transformation: In a manner not unlike Sun Wu Kong, Zeon can use fragments of his hair to make objects at will. He made a letter for Gash, apparently transcribing his thoughts instantaneously since we don't see him prepare or write it previously. He also makes several puppets which he can send away to his bidding. They don't seem to have any fighting power but he can do it.

    So that about covers it!

Thunder Emperor Zeon - he's absurdly strong, hideously fast, treats building busting attacks as if they are inconsequential and he has a lot of big powerful techniques to use at will. He's a complete monster in almost every sense of the word. Respect him and respect the Mamudo Children!

Join me next time when we will be looking at; Clear Note the final boss of the series.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Ziga Dirasuu Zakeruga overpowered Bao Zakeruga, wasn't it less about power and more about Dufaux's hatred being so overwhelmingly powerful that Bao couldn't process/purify it fast enough to keep it from devouring Gash and the people who were giving him Heart Energy? Well, the first time it wasn't even trying to and Gash and Kiyomaru were being devoured by the built up darkness from Gash and Zeon's father's battles. Also, ISTR that Gash said that he held back a little on the the second Bao to keep from killing Zeon, though I may be misremembering that.

Fox Wolverine: "Well, I always did think I was kinda cute. Nice of you to mention it."

    It's a point worth exploring.

The relative power of Baoh and Ziga isn't, as far as we know, tied into the transition and exchange of feelings and emotions between the two. The empathy that Gash, Dufaux and Zeon all felt between the two attacks appeared to be an unintended side-effect of the two techniques. Dufaux's hatred was the source of his prodigious heart power and that made Ziga strong enough to temporarily overcome Baoh. It was only when Gash wept for him and displayed empathy through the emotional exchange that Dufaux's hatred faltered and Ziga weakened enough for Baoh to devour it and them.

So I don't think the feelings stuff at play really effected the power of the attacks themselves, outside of the normal "conviction = power," algorithm that applies to book masters and spells.

Also, ISTR that Gash said that he held back a little on the the second Bao to keep from killing Zeon, though I may be misremembering that.
That is also correct. Kiyomaru said he held back Baoh as much as he could so Zeon wouldn't die. However, even taking that into account, the apparent lack of injury to his body and the only result being temporary unconsciousness to Zeon still demonstrates high durability.

    Default Clear Note - Strength

And after a brief hiatus over the holiday period we are back with Clear Note!

Clear is the ultimate big bad of the series and the most powerful demon that features in the series and he is a goddamn monster.

Clear has three forms (well, technically he has... five-ish but only three are on screen for more than a few seconds) so I'll be doing the stats for each, as they feature, in each section. So without further ado, let's get into:

    Strength

We'll start with his base form. Please note that all of Clear's abilities are actually done at half power. He sacrificed half his total strength to create a perpetual shield around his Book Master so all his base, armour and final form feats are done while at half power.

First here's some physical stuff from his base form. So Brago, is pretty strong, guy punches away bulldozers with a casual backhand, manhandles other superstrong demons like they are children, obliterates tank sized rocks without a problem and generally is capable of monstering on Class 60 odd people with no problem. He is essentially, around as strong as Zeon was shown to be previously. A good solid tier or two above everyone else.

Clear can block his punches with one hand while looking bored. That's like a Class 70-80 punch and he's like; "lol at that,"

He's so physically strong that he can repel Gigano Class Spells by flicking them with his fingers.

The only thing that remotely gives him pause in terms of physical strength in this form is when Ashuron, an elite demon who is considerably stronger than Brago, hits him. Clear catches it and is totally unhurt. Kiyomaru and Gash try to capitalise by shooting at him with Zakeruga and Clear effortlessly turns it aside while still holding off Ashuron's fist. Again, note the bored face. This is him mostly playing around.

So this is the physical strength of Clear's Base Form, I'd put him at around Class 80ish given how he's effortlessly manhandling people like Brago and treating Ashuron like a minor annoyance than an actual threat. Moving on from that, let's get into the offensive power of his spells.

As you may have noticed, all of the demon children have an element or specific area of magic that they specialise in. Ted is body enhancement, Barry is spirals, Won Lei is kung fu energy tigers; Clear's is "Annihilation Energy," that allows him to utterly obliterate things. He also has an utterly insane amount of raw power behind it.

For example, one of his most basic spells has enough power to completely negate Brago's attempt to smash him with a massive gravity field. Note how everything around Clear is being utterly destroyed but he is effortlessly repelling it.

His spells have trouble with incredibly durable objects, in this case Brago's physical body resists being completely erased by a casual spell but his limb is largely ruined. The impressiveness of this will become apparent when Brago's turn in the thread rolls around, but for now know that a much weaker Brago made a habit of soaking city block-busting explosions with only superficial damage. Again, Clear is barely trying here.

When he actually tries a little, he can toss out blasts the size of medium sized buildings.

Now Ashuron, the dragon gentleman we saw earlier, has inherited the legendary Crimson Dragon Scales. This makes his skin incredibly hard to breach and renders him capable of resisting the blasts we have seen earlier. The only reason Brago even survives the previous building-sized blast is because Ashuron just takes it on the chin and is totally unhurt.

So, to simplify that; Ashuron's skin is so tough that he takes energy attackss that literally obliterate hundreds of tons of rock without even blinking.

Here's how he handles Clear actually trying with a mid-level technique. Yep, Clear just cut straight through his tough body like it was a joke to him. Wooo! We also see him tear through Gash's nigh-unbreakable mantle with ease.

To finish off Clear's base form - why not finish off with Clear using a mid level attack to erase a black hole? The whole thing resisting the black hole in the first place is technically strength as well but I have put it into durability so we'll get to that.

So that covers the strength of Base Form Clear at half his total power.

His second form is what I refer to as his Armour Form. Once he changes it up to his armour form, his physical stats go up a fair bit.

For one thing, he's able to pretty much monster on a greatly powered up Brago. Even when Brago uses body reinforcement to enhance his massive strength, Clear can pretty much whale on him with impunity.

The real jump is in his energy projection though.

For starters, he's capable of obliterating a large chunk of the Rocky Mountains with two midlevel spells and one high level spell. This wasn't a big effort for him, it was just to make a big old stage for him to have a final battle on. He later blasts a gigantic hole in a mountain he wasn't even intending to hit.

Finally, for the explosion-y section of this form, here is the scale of the explosion caused by an attack that roughly equates to half of armour Clear's full power. Note how it largely dwarfs the mountains around it.

He can also block attacks from both the aforementioned powered-up Brago and a massively powered up Gash at the same time.

To give an idea of how dangerous Clear's energy has now become, even touching his attacks cuts right through Umagon's Shin Spell level armour like it's nothing.

Finally, he assumes his Final Form!

In this form he can now; slice the tops off mountains by swinging his tail at them, literally sweep away massive areas of mountains with omni-directional attacks and, at his absolute maximum with significant charge time threaten all life on Earth as he claims his attack would blow away a significant chunk of the planet. He says 1/10th but it never hits so we don't know for sure.

    So that covers strength.

Clear is a monster. Let's keep rolling into speed.

    Default Clear Note - Speed

So, speed. Same breakdown as before - Base, Armour and Final. Not much on Final form though as he seems to be more the "Just stand there and launch giant energy attacks," type.

    Anyhow... base form!

Early on we see that Clear can do the whole afterimage thing and he even does it while dodging energy beams at point blank range. Also note how in the previous scan he's kind of easily dodging most of Brago's hits.

He can also effortlessly blitz past Kiyomaru and Gash who were just about able to keep up with Zeon Mr "I-catch-bullets-in-my-hands," Also, he can blitz past Brago and Sherry and even swipe her mace without her even noticing.

His best speed feat in base form, is to wait until Ashuron charges him with Shin Feiruku. A high speed flying technique that clocks him able to fly 2,400 km in around five minutes. Despite Clear apparently being unprepared for him, Clear is still able to move while Gash is apparently frozen from Ashuron's perspective and able to hide behind him. Though I am loath to bring numbers in here, while running numbers on this, it puts Clear in the tens of mach. So yeah, legit superspeed of the multimach area.

Armour Form only has a few speed feats; stuff like zipping forward in the instant between his attack primes and when it fires faster than the massively powered up Brago can move more than a few feet. But for most part he doesn't have anything that makes him that much faster beyond being able to fight two opponents kind of close to his own level without undue trouble or getting overwhelmed.

Final, as we've said, mostly stands around going "Hahaha," but as noted earlier in the thread, he was capable of flying into space in around 30 seconds or so.

I will also comment on the speed of his blasts here because they're pretty nuts.

Here we see them crossing a large chunk of North America in an instant. and in this nifty sequence, Clear fires from North America and his blasts arrive in Italy some 30 seconds or so later. His beams are incredibly fast. Really fast.

As a final bit to speed, here's a handy map showing the kind of distances involved in Clear's long range attacks. By this point in the manga, Clear is essentially sniping at people from different continents with sentient bird kaiju made of annihilation death.

    Awesome. ^_^

    Next, we'll cover durability.

    Default Clear Note - Durability

So Clear is pretty insanely durable.

In his base form, he can take one of Gash's strongest spells to the face with the result that it doesn't even muss up his hair. Seriously, he doesn't even see attacks like this as an obstacle and will just charge straight through them without even slowing down.

Brago gets a bit more creative and does some fun stuff. For example; trapping him in an energy field full of massive spheres of gravity that distort the fabric of space within it Clear just obliterates it with one spell and is totally unhurt by the experience.

Undaunted, Brago opens a black hole on him. However, in a bizarre display of both strength and durability - Clear just pulls himself out of it and comments that it's a pretty strong attack before erasing it as we saw earlier in the strength section.

He's finally hurt when Brago traps him in another black hole and Ashuron stabs him at like mach 30 or something, running him through. However, obliterating most of his major organs doesn't seem to kill him. It just makes him angry and causes him to retreat. He then regenerates the damage over a period of weeks and months so it's not exactly combat regen.

In his (technically imperfect) armour form however, he can instantly reset a broken neck without any discernable loss in power.

On the durability front, his armour form is still still able to largely ignore a massively powered up Gash's mid to high level shots and can be mostly unhurt, barring the totally insignificant broken neck, by a strength enhanced powered up Brago (Class 90ish maybe?) whaling on him. The only time we see him really hurt is when Gash hits him with a lightning beam the size of a train and even then it only does superficial damage. He just gets mad.

His Final Form is a tricky beast to nail down for feats because Gash pulls out all of the strongest spells of everyone he's ever met and takes him to pieces with a whole bunch of Shin Class spells. Given that Shin Spells are the best spells in the manga and Gash is hitting them with all of them at the same time at maximum power it's a credit to Clear's resilience that he takes about ten spells to actually be reasonably hurt and then takes the most powerful spell in the story which was empowered by every demon in the demon world combining their souls into one ultimate strike.

Outside of that, we see him tank and then utterly tear apart Baoh Zakergua. But yeah, stupid durable.

    Lastly we'll cover techniques.

    Default Clear Note - Techniques

    So... techniques.

Kind of tired and hungry so I'll be concise.

We've covered most of his weaker spells. Raija Radisu, Supurifo, Radisu, the hands spell I forget the name of - so we'll just list them off.

Ranzu Radisu: Clear manifests a lance of annihilation energy. This previously was able to cut through Ashuron's Crimson Scales before he went away and trained.

Ba Supurifo: An omnidirectional burst of annihilation energy.

Baadorerugo: Clear launches a semi-sentient bird kaiju that can fly at multimach speed and, as seen in this scan, scan tear itself apart into multiple bullets to attack it's enemies. Clear can control and communicate with this technique from the other side of the planet.

Zaferudora: Clear creates an enormous artillery station that allows him to target enemies more accurately across intercontinental distances and allows him to fire way faster. The cannons and the platform itself can also be first and is manned by a giant general type dude.

Ba Ranzu Radisu: Clear sends out annihilation blades in all directions.

Dioga Ranzu Radisu: A projectile whirling blade kind of thing.

Fei Ganzu Beiriugo: A burst of tracking highspeed missiles.

Giiru Ranzu Radisu: A giant sickle like blade that can even cut through Ashuron's shields and scales like they aren't even there.

Kuea Supurifo: Your basic shield technique, shown here bouncing Ashuron's Dioga Class spell.

Ria Uruku: A body enhancement spell that raises his already ridiculous speed.

Shin Kuira Senousou: Clears most powerful technique, using it allows him to transform into his true form. Seen here bitchslapping Baou Zakeruga like a chump.

Unnamed Horn Bullet Technique: Having assumed his true form, Clear can manipulate his body to a certain extent and, in this case, transforms his horns into bullets to shoot at his enemies en mass.

And that about covers it. So that's Clear Note. The demon equivalent to the nuclear weapon, horribly powerful, irresistibly strong and took a greatest hits from the entire extended cast plus the entire demon world uniting their souls into one attack to finally defeat him permanently. He is the big bad, he is insanely strong.

    You should give him respect.

The Jyuubi is a little above his paygrade. Clear has higher potential firepower with his threatening the planet bit but his nominal firepower level of casual mountain busting is the kind of thing the Jyuubi literally finger flicks away. He's likely a little faster but he's not as durable nor does he have as redonk casual explosions.

Essentially, I imagine that his final form could give the Jyuubi a decent rumble but would ultimately fall.

Woah, I missed whenever Ted and Zeon were posted. Good stuff all around. Te'ds one of my favorite's and Zeon's probably up there among the villains.

Clear Note...eh, I never much liked him honestly. But I gotta give respect where respect is due. Dude was powerful as fuck.

    Default Brago - Strength

Okay, after some lengthy intermission, we are back!

Let's get into a character who I know a lot of you have been looking forward to. It's time to look at the third strongest demon in the series, the demon of the black book, Brago!

Now, Brago is something of a yardstick for the series. He's what Gash is essentially aspiring to be throughout the entire series and is his biggest rival despite them only really interacting on two or three occasions. He's not got the largest amount of feats but when he always shows up it's usually quite impressive. So let's get right into it with his Strength Feats.

We'll start with his raw physical strength:

    Strength

Very early on in the series Brago is capable of destroying a bulldozer with a casual single punch. Around the same time, he's shown to be able to shatter boulders the size of small houses with single punches, again without even really trying. You will note from the dialogue that he considers trying to drop a house-sized boulder on him a "useless trick,"

He also can effortlessly stop demons using strength enhancement spells dead in their tracks and then use them as melee weapons and punch away laser beams with no effort.

Given his presentation in the series and his casual strength feats, Brago is like about a class 70ish.

So you'll recall the feat we showed of Clear effortlessly blocking Brago's punches. At this point, Clear is capable of treating Brago like an annoying child rather than a legitimate threat.

In response, Brago becomes exponentially stronger. While he's training to defeat Clear, we see that Brago becomes capable of making large explosive shockwaves just by punching the air and in his next encounter with Clear shows that he has become capable of physically matching him and hurting him with his punches. I would put his physical strength by the end of the series at around the Class 90 level given how he can essentially physically match Clear.

Moving onto his spell abilities and strength, Brago can manipulate gravitational fields on a rather grand scale.

His default move is to just create fields of massive strong gravity and crush everything caught in them. Here we see one of his mid-level gravity spells destroying the the walls of castle. The area caught in the spell was utterly razed from the second storey all the way down to it's foundations. We also see him use the same spell to obliterate a large chunk of a forest by extending the duration of his attack.

His gravity also effects energy beams and demonic attacks as well as we see here when he crushes the attacks of six other demons with a single spell. When he actually uses a Dioga class spell it's pretty huge and, on another occasion, not only annihilates an avalanche, but also destroys the small mountain it was happening on as well.

After training up to the level where he opposes Clear, his gravity becomes exponentially more powerful, allowing him to create black holes that instantly crush mountain sized objects, his attacks are large enough that they kind of dwarf the mountains around them when they are fired and can even functionally erase Clear's annihilation energy weapon attacks. You will doubtless recall that said energy weapons were capable of breaching Ashuron's Crimson Dragon Scale armour like it wasn't even there and Brago can just blast them to pieces.

His best feats of raw power are using his Shin Class spell to block Final Form Clear's annihilation wave attack. Here is a shot of the aftermath. Note how the mountains around them have literally been disintegrated but Brago's spell prevented them from suffering the same fate. He also manages to temporarily outpower Clear in a battle of Shin spell versus Shin spell. But this final feat isn't just his raw power, Brago explains that while training he learnt to divert the gravitational and rotational energy of the planet itself into his attacks to make them stronger. This does put incredible stress on his body to do this.

That about covers his strength. Next up will be Speed.

    Default Brago - Speed

    Speed

So Brago's speed is kind of annoying because he barely seems to use it. When faced with enemies, his general response is "crush everything with ridiculous gravity fields," or "tank it," rather than move, dodge or chase people. Because of this there are very few clean shots of him actually showing speed on-panel. With this in mind, I'll post what I've managed to find and provide context for things as necessary.

    - Brago jumps like ten metres nigh instantly, note how he's almost on top of Zophise before he reacts and dodges.
    - When a bunch of demons fire energy beams at him, Brago snatches a demon up while they are in mid flight and throws him into the attacks.

As we also saw earlier in the strength scan where he destroyed six attacks at once, he's kind of a pro at blasting attacks out of the air.

After his power-up and in the Clear fight we have him keeping up with the high multimatch Clear without getting overwhelmed and even manages to dodge him when he raises his speed by assuming his Armour Form. He also manages to launch a spell that specifically counters Clear's highspeed energy beam attack after it has been fired. Given that Clear's blasts are fast enough to cross significant chunks of the world in mere seconds, that's a hell of a speed feat.

So yeah, that's literally about it. Brago doesn't have many other appearances and what little he has doesn't really involve speed. By the end of the series he's in the high multimach area simply because he's capable of keeping up with Armour Clear for some time by himself without getting blitzed or even heavily injured. Make of that what you will.

    Next up, Durability.

    Default Brago - Durability

    Durability

Right, one thing you need to understand; Brago is stupidly durable. Despite his ridiculous strength and power, his durability is arguably his key stat.

From his very first (chronologically speaking) appearance, Brago takes a hit that looks like the power of a grenade if not more so and doesn't appear to really have noticed beyond bleeding a little from the head. Note the crater the explosion has made and how it stops rather abruptly when it reaches Brago's physical form.

He also later takes building-sized explosions from a Dioga Class spell and is more really pissed off than actually visibly damaged. Even Clear, for all his ridiculous attack power says his normal attacks can't physically erase Brago's body completely because it's too tough.

After powering up to fight Clear, Brago can tank multiple hits from the Class 90+ Armour Clear without being damaged much at all, physically tanks an attack that punches through Gash's mountain buster-proof mantle with minimal damage and, in probably his best feat of durability, when Final Form Clear launches another mountain range destroying wave of energy Brago shields his partner Sherry with his body and, while being almost completely flattened by the attack is still in one piece, is still alive and fully protected Sherry from the attack.

    Insanely durable. Just insane.

I've got to sleep now but I'll be back sometime soon with Techniques.
