My initial feeling is, "oh, a dark take on Superman, because that worked so well the last time."
I hope I'm wrong and it is awesome, but I'm just not optimistic at all.

Be water.
I as well just really cannot STAND that costume! I get that they're trying to go for this whole "alien" look to it, but I just hate it. I thought the whole point of Superman's costume being the way it is (was, I suppose) is that it was supposed to kind of bring him "down to our level," so to speak; bring him closer to connecting with humanity. The alien look and texture only keeps reminding me that he is in fact not human, which of course he isn't, but still... I feel like the good citizens in the DCU, after having gotten used to him being around, and aside from the fact of his obviously incredible capabilities, would tend to kind of forget from time to time that he's not from Earth. Like if someone made a comment that alluded to that fact people would be like, "Oh yeah, he's an alien!" I dunno, just IMO, I guess. But all that aside even, just the actual design is so ugly. If ya wanna make it all alien, fine, but make it look good for godsake.
For god's sake, its blue, it has a red cape, and has his huge symbol across the chest. This isn't the holocaust.
The more I see of this movie, the more excited I am about it. I've been waiting a long time for a refreshed Superman movie that utilized some of the more recent stories. That image of him being escorted by military reminds me a lot of the Superman Origins series by Geoff Johns, who took a different approach to his origins when he had people react with fear and uncertainty at first. It's something I haven't seen explored in the comics that much and if the movie can do it as well as Geoff Johns, then it promises to be very special.

X-men Supreme
I like it. It conveys the sense that he's hiding his identy (by allowing himself to be captured) - it says "This is a Superman movie" with him in costume - and it hints at grand scale action (he's being escorted by military). Plus it (and the trailer for that matter) has a unique tone/balance of dark and light. I dig it - I'm a Zack Snyder fan anyway - but this more than anything else convinces me to spend the $9 in the theatre.
When it comes to gripping imagery, Zack is master of all he surveys.
I am sure he will be able to capture and depict grand scale action.
Now where story is concerned, I just hope WB managed to recruit a half decent writing crew that crafted an acceptable plot.
Guess I´m just giddy over the fact that it´s not another Lex real estate scheme and that there is a remote chance we´ll finally get to see Superman actually flex his muscles and throw a fucking PUNCH.
I can´t even remember if I´ve ever seen Superman punching anyone in the silver screen (or tv, for that matter), he just threw people around a lot in Smallville.
I do believe he will actually face a supernemesis in this film. The only clue we have is a lo-res still from the SDCC teaser that shows Superman flying downwards towards somebody in a large battlesuit. In the still, you can't really tell if the alleged opponent is flying upward and getting ready to throw a punch, or if he's falling and Superman is rushing to catch him. Either way, I'm looking forward to this film.
Weird, that costume looks like snake skin or something.
Anyway, looks like Supes has some troubles with the authority. Damn paranoiac monkeys, how dare they arrest the godly savior from Krypton?![]()
I cannot wait to see a full trailer for this. And it would seem that the arrest is along the same lines as the deal in Hancock. He is considered a vigilante until he proves that he is there to protect them. Allowing himself to be taken in is a way of him building trust since they have to know he could leave any time he wished to. He is showing he believes in the good ole' Truth, Justice and the American Way. At least that is my take on it.
