Read it because it's consistently better than Swamp Thing, but in much the same manner, I'm really reading it for Pugh. He's growing on me as an underrated favorite artist, and the addition of Frankenstein here but especially the way Pugh draws him was a very welcome shift. Somehow adding Frankenstein made it fun for me. The Post-Modern Son of Prometheus is just a mad, bad concept of a character and if he rides in like the cavalry something is the right way to be. I started back into Justice League Dark for the same reason - where Frankie goes, I follow. Surround him with colorful allies, it just makes him shine more. He's got an ineffable quality. That said I didn't think all the JLDark characters needed to be here. This could do just Beast Boy, doesn't even need Steel, but definitely not Constantine or Orchid.

The Medphyll thing was pretty crazy, too. That's exciting and surprised me. I was expecting Superman. Where is Superman? He's got to be the gatekeeper. But that's not that interesting, that's improvisation on a theme. Medphyll is a whole other story.

Better than Swamp Thing. Sharp art. Not much else to say, it's still suffering the major Rotworld flaw for me, but I just can't stop checking out every panel's pencil-work.

I don't get what people aren't liking about this issue. AM continues to be one of the top 3 books DC is putting out right now (the other two being I, Vampire and Swamp Thing.
Price your book at $3.99 and I'll trade wait. Make me wait too long for the trade PAPERback and I'll say screw it. I'm looking at you Marvel and Spider Island.

I don't think it's a dislike for the issue so much as it is that the current storyline has literally been going on for over a year now and needs to come to a close as people are losing interest. That said, I DID enjoy the issue myself: Beast Boy as a giraffe with Monsieur Mallah's beret and ammo belt was hilarious.

Great issue and I love the team with Buddy, Con-man, Black Orchid, Beast Boy and Steel. Throw in Frank and it just gets better for me.
Animal Man, Batman Inc, Constantine, Earth 2, Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Justice League, Justice League Dark, JLA, Saga, Swamp Thing, Supergirl and Superman.

This whole "event" could be so much better than it is.

Kind of reminds me of ASM's "Grim Hunt"

So much build up (The Gauntlet) for such an average outcome. Hell, some of the Gauntlet was miles better than the Grim Hunt.

While I'm getting bored with the Rotworld storyline this was still a great issue. Much better than Swamp Thing 15! So, Frankenstein is like the coolest character on the planet right?!? He's just so bad ass. Plus Beast Boy wearing Mallah's beret was pretty damn funny. Also got a laugh from Buddy wearing an Animal Man shirt. Really wasn't expecting the plant Lantern. That was a very good reveal.

I'd agree that Rotworld has become a bit of a chore, I'm still enjoying both this ANIMAL MAN and SWAMP THING on their individual merits. It would just be nice to get this story done with so they can move on to new things.

The reveal at the end was pretty great. It was obvious that Metropolis was misdirection and it wasn't going to be Superman trapped in a basement, but I really wasn't expecting a Green Lantern. To be honest, I thought it was going to be Martian Manhunter.

Curious about that myself. Also, they keep mentioning Woodrue, and I want to know what's up with him.

I'm only reading the Swamp Thing side of Rotworld at the moment. Animal Man was a good book at launch, but it lost me along the way as well.

I dislike that this book is basically Buddy and his family fighting zombies for 16 issues.

Initially, the book wasn't just that at all, but it's become more and more generic.
