Awesome isn' it? I wonder if the Frankenstein issue next week will show us how this happened.

Also, that last statement about Maxine. I'm getting shivers just wondering what happened.

Great preview. Animal Man has really hit a stride after some rather shakey issues in the middle there. Last issue was great, this issue looks as good or better.

Frankenstein 13-15 takes place at the start of Rotworld while Animal Man is 1 year into it. Frank is collecting the pieces of the Soul Grinder, which will allow him to create his patchwork Army.

I dropped this book a couple months ago, still reading the previews to see if it catches my eye, and this just looks so weak and generic. The magic of that first arc seems so long gone now, it's getting harder to believe the book was ever anything special.

I'm still buying this book but to be honest, the story has been dragging for me. It's still in my pull list but it's rarely the book I'm dying to read that month.
Books im reading: Batman, Catwoman, Animal Man, JLA, Wonder Woman, Red Hood, Journey into Mystery, Sword of Sorcery.......

That preview looks good. I'm thinking of picking this book up again, but this Rotworld thing........is this something that took place in the past, or is this an alternative future?

I love DC right now, but man, the continuity can be confusing at times.
    I seriously miss Captain Mar-Vell.

It's supposed to be taking place one year in the future from the current continuity. THey keep saying it's not an alternate future but THE future, but of course what we'll end up with is everything being undone, so that's a bit disingenuous.

Thank you for taking the time to clear that up for me. So I guess when it's over, Animal Man jumps back into current continuity, or current continuity jumps back on him, or whatever.

That is what I'm guessing. His family is still being followed in the current continuity, after all, so I'm sure it has to do with looping back to what is going on there.

Ditto in Swamp Thing, where we are following Abby in current continuity and Swamp Thing in a post apocalyptic future.

If you want to really talk about the odd man out it's Frankenstein, who exists in the current continuity but is showing some sincerely and severely catastrophic damage that isn't being reflected in other books, even Swamp Thing and Animal Man's 'current' segments. Cities destroyed and shite. I'll be interested to see if all of that stuff somehow gets undone, that Frankenstein's book is operating slightly ahead of the 'current' scenes from Animal Man/ Swamp Thing.

Sad, but I agree. Though Lemire use very well mainstream and super-heroes tools, ROTWORLD isn't that astounding, I was expecting more climaxatics (I know this word doesn't exist)-moments. And I miss a lot Travel Foreman' art. ROTWORLD should have required artists like Bill Sienkiewickz (if he hasn't become a caricature of his own virtuosity already) or Jae Lee. Anyway, I'll be following what the title will bring next.

FRANKENSTEIN AGENT OF S.H.A.D.E had also everything to be a top-seller , excepted good art and catch-on -your -throat plots, nothing of what Morrison and Mahnke did in SEVEN SOLDIERS OF VICTORY so really, sometimes the new DCnU feels like a waste..Give us a LADY FRANKENSTEIN AGENT OF S.H.A.D.E by Milligan and Irving to wash away this offense

Frankenstein also happens to be a fringe character at best that's only appeared sporadically since creation, so he's got to run double time to get recognition.

I could be down with a Lady Frankenstein comic, but not with those two people onboard.

    Agreed

I'll probably check previews after Rotworld, but I don't see myself picking this back up again.
