I've seen this from time to time and had never picked it up. Really never knew much about it but I used to not be much of an Azzarello fan. I really like what he does and will probably pick this up now.

Also, a few of you mentioned that you wish did monthly work. Isn't he still on Wonder Woman?

    New Gods pls.
    I'd take it!

Or going in a completely different direction, Green Lantern post Johns? He's one of the few big names that would have a hole in his schedule in the next year or so, assuming "First Lantern" is Johns' swansong (an assumption based only on wishful thinking, before anyone asks). He just did a nice sci fi mini series in "Spaceman", that I actually haven't yet read (wanting to read it all at once).

He seems reasonably capable of handling 2-3 titles at once; with Spaceman, Rorschach and the Comedian all done now, I think we're all hoping for a new company owned ongoing (and in my case I want a new creator owned mini/maxi/ongoing).

Remember you telling that he wrote a short Green Lantern story so he could do it but it might be better for him if he wasn't doing another big title.
They released a deluxe edition of Spaceman a month ago if you didn't know.

I did, and I bought it! I just haven't gotten around to reading it. Something to do on this saturday, perhaps....

And he did a short Green Lantern story that was fundamentally about poking fun at the absurdity of superheroes, so it wasn't really a Green Lantern story. It was for the Julius Schwartz tribute.

Point taken on a 'big title', but after years of Johnsian stupid-action, I would like to see a high minded take on the character and the universe, if only for an arc.

It looks to me that DC is going to be filling the "Morrison" space with Azzarello, which is quite alright. Didio has a lot of confidence in the guy, and I like that, because I do too.

    Perhaps :P
    Ah alright.
But wouldn't that be where Kindt steps in to take over the title like you wanted?
Now only if DC would spread out their other writers to fill in the writers that had they lost.

There is no real coherency to what I want. I'm just throwing ideas out there, in hopes that someone at DC trolling these boards might see them and take them to heart. I'd be happy with Kindt, but he'll have to up his profile significantly before he gets such an assignment; Johns had already turned JSA, Flash, Teen Titans and Hawkman into verifiable hits before he was given Green Lantern, and that was before it was a real sales juggernaut. Unless he exercises his 'creative officer' muscle and gets someone he loves on the title, I don't think DC is going to put someone of Kindt's relative obscurity on a GL book.

Azzarello, on the other hand, absolutely. He's one of only a handful of guys that are at that level.

But hey, maybe DC will surprise me. Maybe they'll pull a Marvel, the way Marvel put Gillen on Uncanny X Men (to mixed results, admittedly).

But I can't recall them giving a big title to an unproven name since the New 52 started.

I only brought up Azz on WW as I have only read the first HC and am waiting for the second. I didn't know if he was still on or if I missed something. I'd like him on another monthly also.

This looks fantastic! I'm going to have to get this. The art is what grabs me, simple but pleasant to look at.

I love the way Azzarello makes fun of Grant Morrison.
