No, I'm blaming DC for constantly alienating it's fans by allowing/forcing radical changes down our throats. I think the fans of these characters deserve better. Especially when it's NOT a financial decision bc the characters are doing worse than they were pre flashpoint.

Hal may "technically" still be in what used to be in his own book, but that doesn't make a strong argument for him as a new member of the trinity. He was in JL #1, that's true; that was the book in which Batman stole his ring. And #2 was the one in which he got his butt kicked by Superman, who smashed one of his constructs--a feat more recently repeated by Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman got a much better spotlight in #3.

Ah, but your saying that the relationship is boosting Wonder Woman's profile kind of proves the point that DC is defining her based on her relationship with Superman as opposed to being an independent superhero in her own right.

Yes, in Justice League #14, it featured Wonder Woman's top tier villain, the Cheetah, but at the end of the day, the comic finished with Superman taking Diana to his hometown of Smallville where she learns more about the value of humanity from Superman.

Again, Superman was beaten by Cheetah, whereas Wonder Woman was one of the two heroes who tag-teamed to beat Cheetah. Superman then provided emotional support for Wonder Woman--much as a supporting character would. If Wonder Woman's and Superman's roles were reversed in that issue, you'd have better evidence that Wonder Woman is being used a s a supporting character.

Thus far, the only place where Wonder Woman seems like a hero in her own right is in Azzerello's Wonder Woman comic.

I vastly prefer Azzarello's portrayal of Wonder Woman to Johns. But Wonder Woman's as much a hero as anyone else in JL; she dazzles the rest of the league with her effectiveness against the parademons, she deflects the Omega Sanction and puts out one of Darkseid's eye (having suggested the strategy of blinding him), gives an impassioned speech about the earth belonging to everyone or no one, helps defeat Graves and is effective against Cheetah. She's also shown in JLD 1 to be less rattled by magic than Superman or Cyborg, and Batwoman practically idolizes her.

It's the interviewer who says Wonder Woman, or her connection to Greek mythology, isn't interesting. What Milligan's saying about superheroes being horrible doesn't really seem to apply to Wonder WOman in particular more than anyone else. When was this interview, anyway? From he says about how superheros should be mroe like the Greek gods, he sounds like he could be sympathetic to what Azzarello is trying to do.

That's correct, but in terms of which League members we were introduced to first in terms of the New 52, it was Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern. And I'm saying that the reason why that was is the same reason for why they're labeled as the key players according to Stormwatch #15--because like it or not, Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern are the top dogs at DC right now. Yes, the Trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman is more iconic, but in terms of marketing, licensing, and merchandising, it's the Trinity of Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern.

Except who is the bigger cultural icon by comparison? It's Superman by a country mile. So in that sense, bringing in Wonder Woman's villains for Superman to fight, IMO, only serves to reinforce the notion that Wonder Woman is being brought into Superman's world rather than Wonder Woman having a world of her own like she used to have.

Yes, that's ideally how it's supposed to work, that the members of the Justice League are all heroes in their own right who band together to take on problems they otherwise can't do alone. And you're also right in saying Wonder Woman is just as capable as her male counterparts. However, because Wonder Woman is now romantically involved with Superman, this has the unintended consequence of viewing her in the context of Superman simply due to the fact that Superman is the bigger cultural icon. In other words, what DC has ended up doing by having her and Superman be in a relationship is essentially make her a part of the Superman franchise. Thus it reinforces the idea that new Trinity--which again is based on their current standings in terms of marketing, licensing, and merchandising--are Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern, not the Trinity as represented by the long standing cultural icons of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

The interview is pretty clearly before Azzarello's run, and I agree he may like this book, which is similar to his own book, Greek Street. But earlier in the interview, Milligan is just saying that there isn't anything inherently bad about superheroes in response to the question about how British comic book writers tend to dislike them or look down on them. So he compares them to Greek mythology.

I can see how this can be considered a way to insinuate DC undermining Wonder Womans place in the trinity but she doesn't belong on the list like these three as a threat to Earth and Stormwatch. Superman and GL make sense technically they are more in tune with there focus of protecting the Earth from outside threats Wonder Woman and Amazons are native to Earth and been around forever. The fact of the mater is she isn't anything new that has just disturbed the status quo of earth same technically goes to Aquaman but Superman and all the many GLs are new and things they are still desperate to understand witch is why they were studying ways to counter supes and the power rings. Batman is on this list because well the fact he is probably the biggest threat to their secrecy and he does inspire a lot of vigilantism looking at the bat family and Batman Inc. Supes is either loved or hated by half the world and in the span of six years their have been more earth GLs one of who is a suspected terrorist than Robins which is saying something.

But still grrr Stormwatch doesn't consider Wonder Woman a high threat to Earths safety that is such a horrid thing . Its not like in the same page this image comes from they say they will be targeting all of the metas on Earth or that this is just one particularly glowy liars opinion on the best first targets.
