Not really, plus Duane only said that 17 was his last issue, not they last issue. I think they would change writers and try that before canceling. And again the team has not really been set for spin offs. Katana sure, and Starling maybe, but I think BC won't join team 7 again once they get done with the arc in the past, and Ivy is in Swamp Thing during Rotworld which takes place in the future.

Ya that why I said, even if he did know he could most likely not say anything.

    Good call.

Interesting. I could totally see Venditti writing a decent Hawkman, but Brooks would never have crossed my mind (though he's awesome).

More than likely, Hawkman will be canceled sooner than later, which is a shame. Granted, there hasn't been a single good issue since the relaunch, but that's DC's fault. They seem more and more determined to destroy this character with every half-assed attempt...

I guess it's too soon to hope for a new writer on Catwoman.

Yeah Venditti on Hawkman would be good, even though I haven't read anything by him yet. It's just a hunch that he seems to like taking on the more mature, fantasy kind of stuff like Demon Knights and Constantine, but produces more safe, superhero-y kind of work in X-O.

I haven't read her Catwoman, but considering they are giving her Katana I would guess it has been doing great.

Not all that surprised by either Batgirl or BoP though. Given the recent comments on her tumblr about getting the chance to write an iconic female character she's neverwritten before and about her contrct being up soon, I wouldn't be too surprised if Gail Simone was heading for greener pastures. And while I've enjoyed BoP it does feel like it's been ****ed over by editorial several times already.
Now this I find interesting...what iconic female characters are out there that Gail hasn't written before (presumably at other publishers?) I hate that Gail is leaving Batgirl, but it has read more like she is writing to editorial direction rather than what she really wants to write. The stories have been decent, but are still missing something. The new writer (if there is one) will definitely be held to a fine microscope.

Likewise replacing Duane on BoP in intriguing. The stories have been quite dull to me and no one has acted anywhere close to character except for Katana and she's crazy. Gail set the bar high for this book early on and it's been hard for anyone to follow her. The one thing I wouldn't mind seeing happen is one that many others probably wont share is seeing Starling disappear. The book has gone from being about Canary to about Starling, a character I dont care for. But I will be curious to see who takes over these.

It seems to me that you're lost in nostalgia. You want Simone's Birds of Prey and nothing more.
Honestly, Starling is along with Bunker one of the best new characters in DC Comics.

Bunker is funny and actually feels new, instead of a different version of an existing character. I like the guy.

Appearances can be quite deceiving and you are quite wrong. But thanks for playing. I dont like Starling and haven't found anything about her character appealing in the least. She's Duane's pet character and he's given her prominence over Canary and BoP should be Canary's lead simply put. Actually if you want to call that "lost in nostalgia" then fine. I would rather be lost in nostalgia than lost in a mediocre character who is shallow and one dimensional.

She's everything other than one dimensional.
And this is a rebooted version of BOP. Canary doesn't even have to be on the team, less alone lead it.

Her frikking name is Black Canary.

Also, although I liked Starling at first, I got tired about how much Duane was giving the spotlight to her.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.

I'm just going to weigh in here and say that I didn't think Liefield's run on Deathstroke was bad, purely because of dat Lobo.

Duane... I liked his writing, but that doesn't mean much when editorial hasn't let him tell a full story in a year.

Swamp Thing... Again, liked the writing, but probably better to replace Snyder than stretch him too thin.

Batgirl, hard to conceive how it could get worse. But I'm sure DC can find some way to surprise me.

    TDK/Hawkman? Eh.
Hey guys... Francis and I aren't going anywhere for a while. He's taking 18 and 19 off completely so he can recharge and then we will be doing our next big arc, which will probably be 5-6 issues... and will focus on REVERSE FLASH.
