I don't think Monica actually cared. They were just having a friendly banter.
Have you seriously never made a minor issue of something, just for laughs?

Freedom is the ability to live without fear of persecution. Nothing more, and certainly nothing less.
Ooh, I hope this is a follow up to the Ms Marvel Annual where Carol and Peter fight that old-android-dude who could make giant robots from other machines. Basically the first thing I instantly thought of when I saw the robot come up. Can't say no to a nod to her original solo book.
Bad news everyone...
The whole discussion/fight about the codename just didn't work for me. It only ended up making Monica look like a high schooler, and it went on too long for it to be banter, imo.

If KSD was going for that, she didn't convey it well (unlike the exchanges with Carol and Tracy). Maybe it is ultimately a minor issue for Monica, but she doesn't appear to be joking around, and I agree with Black Guardian that it was too long for simple ribbing. The tone is more like she's lecturing Carol as she compares the situation to dating a friend's ex. Even after Carol apologizes, she carries on, and only stops when she gets embarrassed about unintentionally revealing that she googles herself. I will admit that immediately afterward, there are definitely 2 quick, lighthearted jabs at each other before they finally move on to what Carol saw in the water, but that's it

Finally got all the Captain Marvel issues. I will say that I enjoyed Issue #7 waaay more than the entirety of the first arc. I might actually regularly pick up this title now, provided the quality doesn't go back to the level of the first arc.
This was a really fun issue. Carol and Monica's banter is great and the art looked particularly gorgeous.![]()
Character quirks. I'm hoping we get to see her hang out with Ben Grimm or War Machine in the future. Why? Because of all the superheroes in Marvel it's Danvers, Rhodes, and Grimm who are among the formally trained airforce pilots. That means they should know what they're doing. They're trained in several aircraft, including helicopters. Now throw in all the advanced aircraft they've encountered in their lives. Rhodey has flown many of Stark's prototype machines. Grimm has flown Reed Richard's special inventions and encountered alien aircraft. (I don't buy that he'd get airsick from flying a Wakandan flyer. He's made of rock.) Carol has knowledge of Kree & Skrull spacecraft, the Avengers' Quinjet, and the Starjammer.
I WANT to like this series, I REALLY do, Carol is one of my favs. However, that first story arc was a bust! Waaaay to drawn out and time travel is never a good way to start a series, it's such a put off IMHO. This is issue was more what I want frm a Captain Marvel title and I loved the banter between Carol and Monica, but I'm afraid the first arc may have been a turn off for too many people.
