Default REVIEW: Batman: The Dark Knight, #14

Gregg Hurwitz and David Finch's "Batman: The Dark Knight" #14 continues to be the darkest title in the Batman family, as their Scarecrow story fakes the reader into thinking it's over when it's not.

That's a pretty good review. 3.5 stars seems fair. When I rated it on comixology I gave it a three. I agree with the point about pacing of the book being well done. The story is going over multiple issues without seeming unnecessarily drawn out. It looks like we get a real horrible turn of events now, with the last illustration being particularly grim, even for this book. I also like how the arc is focusing on Batman and one villain. As someone who is not a big Batman fan, this book's focus on Scarecrow and Batman as individuals squaring off is more interesting to me than the main title. I like getting the closer look at him and at Scarecrow. It has been pretty effective both for the horror element and the Batman character study. I have one issue with the end. It is leading into another hugely devastating event that will affect many people. I know this is a comic but I sometimes wonder why Gotham doesn't either empty out or become like Mogadishu with all the insane over the top violence. It seems comics recently have fallen in love with collateral damage.
