Cancellation, or reshuffle? From BC Will Gail Simone Leave Batgirl? DC Creative Changes In The Next Few Months

Like I said in a different thread, I love Duane, I think Birds of Prey with him on it was great. I would be ok with a new writer, just as long as they don't drop his plans for Ivy. He had a plan for her, and was going to use her again, and I just don't want to see that drop due to a new writer.

At DC, no, at least not for now. He said for the time being he's going to be working on the English adaptation of an old Anime/Magna called Cyborg 009.

That's a downright shame (not to give him another DC title).

maybe people will stop with this silly notion that just because something is a "Bat Title" and therefore connectioned to "Batman" it is somehow magically protected against cancellation. In my opinion no Bat title is automatically safe simply because of it's association with "Batman".

Of course not. Who said that? There have been lots of bat-titles cancelled over the years.

What about overseas sales?
I,m assuming these figures are for domestic US sales and thats fine.
but I now buy 3 DC titles every month and had,nt read DC until the New 52 and seeing JL #1 on the Green Lantern Blu-Ray.
I,m now hooked.And I live in England!

So,would good overseas sales save a book if they were selling,say,20,000 copies in Europe and Canada,for example?

It's my understanding that those figures include total sales through Diamond Distributors. It's also my understanding that Diamond handles direct market distribution in the UK and several other countries as well. Can anyone confirm that?

Yeah, saw that. I was interested in this part in particular:

If true, I'll have to check it out again. (I dropped this several months ago.)

I don't know about that. From what I gathered, Gail had a lot of say in the recreation of Batgirl. If that's true, this is exactly the Barbara she wanted.

Well, yes and no. It was DC's decision to bring back Babs as Batgirl (even though people insist on blaming Gail for that). They also decided she'd be de-aged, along with the rest of the bat-crew. They also decided that The Killing Joke would remain intact, but Gail said she agreed with this part. I think it's safe to conclude that Gail was content enough with the parameters she'd have to work within that she agreed to take on the project. But I'm not sure that's the same thing as having all the same preferences.
