I saw that in the CC trailer and I was like "WHOA." That little clip above eclipses ALL the action in Superman Returns. This is going to be an amazing adaption of ACTION. Something we haven't seen in a Superman movie yet on a big scale. There's also a clip of Superman and Zod tangled up and helicoptering together into a Metropolis building and explodes as the people on the streets take cover. Can't wait.
I personally feel Superman movies should be shot in Technicolor...or by that, I mean with the bright, full color palette that those films had. After Snyder was named director, my first concern after his admiration of Frank Miller's DKR was his use of muted colors. I love that look for gothic films and I think it's great for Batman, but a Superman movie should be bright and colorful. That was an issue I had with the Donner movies as well, except for Superman's costume.
Over and over, the crow cries uncover the cornfield.
I'm actually fine with the darker color pallet. I grew up with this VHS two pack of an episode of the George Reeves TV show and the one of the Fleischer Cartoon, both in black and white and very Golden Age in feel, and I basically destroyed that tape by watching it so often. So I actually came to like a darker shaded Superman, something probably helped by how dark blue both Dean Cain's suit and the TAS version were in comparison to the Christopher Reeves suit. And since I always thought the SR suit looked a little too pale and had a weird cut, I've kind of evolved into a fan of the darker look, provided it follows the design specifics that Alex Ross said the SR suit lacked: a lower collar and larger S-shield.
I also tend to support the more armored look of this new suit since I always felt ridiculous in my Halloween costumes if they weren't a little thicker, and it still conveys a better otherworldy feel and classic look than the Nu52 look. I love the texture the suit has at a distance.
