Default Avengers Arena: Interest vs. Knowledge

    Greetings, first time poster.

I have a bit of science I want to get done, and all I need is your vote. Several weeks ago, I created a poll to measure interest in Arena vs. Knowledge of the characters within. Most of the places I polled, however, were primarily biased against it. I want to take some samplings from a more neutral host.

I want to determine if knowledge of the characters has an effect on those who are or are not going to read this series.

So far, the results have been fascinating, but I want want a larger and more diverse sample size before it comes out in 6 days. 224 votes for an online poll is a decent sample size, but more is always better.

Vote either in the poll here or (preferable) in the one linked.

I'd share my personal thoughts on it, but I do not wish to taint the voting pool more than it already has been.

I know about half of the cast (since half is all-new characters), and half of that group I have more than a passing familiarity with.

To be honest, I think I'd be less interested if it was entirely new characters.
Currently reading She-Hulk, Deadpool, Swamp Thing, Ms. Marvel

Probation: Ghost Rider, Loki: LoA, Secret Avengers

Looking forward to All-New Ultimates, Flash Gordon and Doctor Mirage.

Not really looking forward to it for being honest.

I like those characters fine but the concept doesn't interest me so...

I'm referring primarily to the 9 pre established ones if that helps any.

I'd say more, but, again, I do not want to taint this voting pool. All I can see is that I agree with your conclusion about a better casting choice.

I'm really only familiar with X-23 and Darkhawk. I've heard of some of the others, but haven't read much on them.

On a tangent, have they said how often this book gets printed? In the comixology pre-order section, issue #2 comes out the week after issue #1.

OI like most of the established characters, and have no desire to spend money to watch them die. Why pay to see things you like destroyed?

This looks to be a high-rate double shipper. It double-ships the first and third months with only one issue being released in January.

Expect 18 issues minimum in the first year.

It's double shipping. #3 is in January, while #4 and #5 are in February.

Well if you don't buy in monthly, it at least means faster trades.

Yeah but look at the trade prices.

It's as if Marvel is pre-emptively punishing trade waiters.

I know almost all the characters since I read through all of Avengers Academy, and well Laura's in there, hell if I read through Pixie Strikes Back because of her, I'll read anything that features her
