    Here's who I like:

Christopher Reeve - Superman - every actor that assume the role tries to do a version of Reeve
    Patrick Stewart/James Mcavoy - Professor X - both did a great job
Ian McKellen/Michael Fassbender - Magneto - both commanded the role as you could see the younger becoming the older
    J.K. Simmons - J. Jonah Jameson
Michael Chiklis & Chris Evans - The Thing & The Human Torch - the best things about F4..their chemistry was perfect
Robert Downey, Jr. - Tony Stark/Iron Man - amazing how much of Downey is really in Stark
Jack Nicholson - The Joker - I think he captured insanity Joker
Tom Hiddleston - Loki (He actually managed to make Loki something of a sympathetic figure in "Thor")
    Michael Keaton - Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Clarke Duncan - Wilson Fisk
Chris Hemsworth - Thor..hell the whole cast

It has nothing to do with his acting skills, but Hugh Jackman has the exact opposite body type and facial structure to be cast as Wolverine. The aesthetics of the character is ruined with Jackman playing Wolverine in movies. So this is the worse.

The best is easily Downey as Iron man. And Jack Nicholson as Joker.

Ive grown to like Jackman as Wolverine over the years AND it helps that he loves the role, he did a piece for 60 miinutes this past week and he's putting in the gym time, grows the hair and sideburns out....we could have ended up with Dougray Scott

Again, it's not because of Jackman's acting skills or lack of dedication and muscle mass. It's because of his 6'3 body type and thin facial structure.

Agree that McMahon is a good actor. He was brilliant in "Nip/Tuck".

But he was just wasted in the FF movies. It certainly didn't help matters that Doom was written so badly. "Let's all go for spinnnnnnn!"

I liked Jack Nicholson's Joker for what it was, Jack Nicholson pretty much playing himself. But Heath Ledger's Joker made Jack's look like a kid's fun party clown, and felt much more true to the comics.

Jackson made Wolverine , wouldn't have been as memorable if Dougray Scott or Glenn Danzig had took that role. Imagine if the x-men had gone with some of their considered castings - you would have Russell Crowe as Wolverine , Jim Caviezel as Cyclops , Angela Bassett as Storm , Natalie Portman as rogue , Lucy Lawless as Jean Grey , Jeri Ryan as Mystique etc.

He's short and angry, two of wolverines defining traits.

Yep. But don't know how well he could pull off the scripted dialogue on screen. But he has the looks and height part down for sure.

I think Jim Caviziel would have made a much better Cyclops than James Marsden. Caviziel has that quiet presence that Marsden does not. I always thought Vanessa Williams would have made a better Storm than Halle Berry. Also, despite physically not have anything in common with Wolverine, I can't deny that Jackman as Wolverine was one of the best things to come out of the X-Men movies. It bothers me a little to this day that he didn't look like Wolverine, but Jackman's too good to dismiss.
