Oh yeeeees. Totally agree, he played the role so damn freaking well.

Nicolas cage is awful, and the guy who played the thing.

Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Professor X, Mar-Vell, Richard Rider- Bring Them Back!!!
It doesn't matter about the size of the role. She doesn't do the serious/mean/whatever words you want to describe Maria Hill character well at all. She's almost TOO pretty (oddly enough!), dainty looking and makes me want to laugh when she's pretending to be serious. Not at all what I would expect for someone like Maria Hill, who is more of a Michelle Rodriquez to me, who does that angry sizzle better than anyone.
BEST
Christopher Reeve as Superman (For my money, still the best bit of superhero casting ever. Reeve nailed down the duality of Clark Kent and Superman so perfectly, it really was like he was playing two entirely different people.)
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Patrick Stewart as Professor X
Michael Fassbender as Magneto
J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson
Michael Chiklis as The Thing
Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man
Kelsey Grammer as The Beast (Although X-Men: The Last Stand was a fairly terrible movie, Grammer was terrific in this role)
Heath Ledger as The Joker
Chris Evans as the Human Torch (Of the two Marvel heroes he's played, this was his better role. I still don't buy him as Captain America even though I liked the movie.)
Tom Hiddleston as Loki (He actually managed to make Loki something of a sympathetic figure in "Thor")
Edward Norton as Bruce Banner (I think Mark Ruffalo did a great job, but when I picture Banner, Norton is more along the lines of what I think of)
WORST
Halle Berry as Storm and Catwoman (I like her, but she really should NOT be playing superheroes. It's not something she's suited for. There was absolutely nothing of the Storm I know from the comics in her portrayal. Halle couldn't even be bothered to maintain any kind of accent. The less said about "Catwoman", the better.)
Dean Cain as Superman (He did a great take on the Byrne-era Clark Kent, but his Superman had zero screen presence, which is probably one of the reasons why Teri Hatcher's Lois Lane ended up eclipsing him on "Lois & Clark". Plus, he was kinda short for the part, which is why he's called "Midgetman" by a lot of Superman fans.)
Jessica Alba as Sue Storm (Totally wrong for the part. Could you really buy her as the OLDER sister of Chris Evans' Johnny Storm?)
Eric Bana as Bruce Banner ( Good actor, but WAY too wooden for this part.)
Chris O'Donnell as Robin
Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face (Seems to me like he was trying to be less like Two-Face and more like Jack Nicholson's Joker)
Nobody's wrong ALL the time. Even a clock that doesn't move is right twice a day.

People who chime in on vs. threads with "I don't like Superman at all, but he'd win.", STOP HELPING! Superman doesn't need your damning him with faint praise, thank you.
Hmmm...
I was impressed by:
Michael Clarke Duncan as the Kingpin in 'Daredevil'.
Wesley Snipes as Blade.
The two Chrises as Captain America and Thor, in 'Avengers', although I haven't seen their solo flicks. I just loved both their performances; they seemed like the Cap and Thor I read in the comics.
Also...
Both Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger as the Joker. Different takes on the character, but appropriate for their respective films.
These left me cold:
Halle Berry as Storm, oh God, Halle Berry as Storm! Was it the flat line delivery or the lack of character written into the part? I don't know, but I didn't recognise Storm in it beyond the fact that she controlled the weather and had white hair.
And... that's pretty much it. I also loathed a lot of casting choices throughout the X-Men films, from Callisto to Angel Salvadore, but I don't have all day. Otherwise, most actors in the films I've seen were either okay or bland. But not horrible.
Well, personally I felt that Stallone did a good job as Dredd. The problem is he was in a bad Dredd adaptation. Oddly enough, at the time it was one of the best comics to film adaptations that had been done except for the whole Dredd removes his helmet thing. Ah well.
