It's become fashionable to shit on this story, but I love it and always will. I started re-reading the entire tale on November 18th, 20 years to the day Superman died. I'm in the middle of "World Without A Superman" right now.

Batman 89 got me into Batman and collecting Batman comics, but the Death of Superman made me a bona fide comic book lover. And I fell in love with DC, which is still my favorite company. That said, during the 90s, I was buying just about every major title put out by The Big Two.

Of course, comics were much cheaper then.

Thanks for this article! Great reading!

Goodbye León (november 16th, 1993 - june 12th, 2009). You were, are and always will be the best friend I ever had. I will always love you and never forget you. And please, please forgive me.

Thank you for teaching me about love, patience and caring. Rest in Peace, my friend. I hope that wherever it is you are now, you can run and play as much as you want.
