It can, very easily. Just say they never happened.

A small disclaimer on the recap pages that says, "From this issue forward, we will continue this book as though X, Y and Z never happened. That is all."

But it's my opinion that the stories deserving retcons should not exist, and altering them to be tolerable is still them existing.

Most bad stories can just be ignored with little consequence, there are only a few I'd actually retcon.

    1) Sins Past - It's the worst Spider-Man story because it portrays its central character completely wrong. You may as well write a story about how Captain America is really Hitler. Also, this is easy to do and has little impact on the ongoing narrative (though it affects flashbacks and the like). You could do this as part of the others.
    2) Norman being alive - New Norman has nothing in common with Old Norman. Old Norman's death was part of the best Spider-Man story ever. I also think you could make an interesting story out of the revelation that New Norman is a different person, either a crazy guy or (more likely) a clone.
    3) Jackal since 90s is a clone - I'm not sure this even really counts as a retcon.
    4) Parallel Lives....maybe? - I don't really mind Parallel Lives as a story, but MJ knowing from the beginning is.....weird.....

I think that's it as far as actual retcons go. OMD, despite being a detestable piece of crap, is foundational for everything that has been done for the five years sense. You can't just pretend it never happened. I would certainly undo its effects, but it would be a retcon, just a new story dealing with the issue.

    I think that's the case
