You know, it's really interesting how Capullo changed his initial designs from #1 - based on fan reaction - and has gone back to a "classic" route with both of the character designs (minus the reattached-leather-face).

    Capullo on Joker's Redesign:
"Again, Scott really wanted him to look less wooden dummy-ish with the big nose and the big chin, because that's not so much the guy you'd expect to ever really meet. In that respect I both trimmed back and the chin and the nose, and as far as from my own perspective based on what I heard from issue #1 I said, "No way is he going to have that hair-do! I'm just going to give him straight-forward, time-tested, fan approved hair!" [Laughs] And that's how I kept it! So the only cognizant thought I had was to not do the Heath Ledger hair -- I don't want to get stoned by fans while I'm at conventions!"

Yeah. The actual Riddler story won't begin until around June because of the 3 issue epilogue.

Capullo's design of Riddler from issue 1 was never meant to be permanent. He and Scott imagined how Riddler would identify himself while in Arkham. Since all their personal possessions would be taken away. In that same scene, Professor Pyg made his mask from pillow cases. Capullo doesn't get rankled by fans. People got on his case about Lincoln March looking like Bruce Wayne. He had to bite his tongue and take it knowing full well that they were suppose to look alike.

    This is really cool.

Maybe theyll go horror esque andhave him cut off his own arm and beat people up with it and cut a mohawk question mark into his hair.

Just listened to the Comic Vine Podcast- really interesting. But, as much as I wouldn't say Capullo gets "rankled" by fans... you can definitely tell Snyder and Capullo listen to fans - but still tell and design the story they want to tell.

Yikes. I'm enjoying Death of the Family more than I thought I would (so far, at least), but a 3-issue epilogue seems excessive, especially if the issues are still bonus-sized. And nine issues for the Riddler? Oh man, I hope there are at least a couple of side-stories/villains that get brought in.

Cautiously optimistic. As long as Snyder's Riddler is less dark than Jigsaw from the Saw franchise, I'll probably be fine with it.

But as far as what Capullo does? I'm sure his end of the creative process will continue to be near-flawless.

I haven't particularly appreciated Snyder's take on the Joker but I am 100% down for some Riddler love.

I still want Eddie to be an underground Info broker but I am always up for a wacky caper (although I doubt either are Synders particular style).

I hope the Riddler cuts off his face and leaves it as a clue for batman to find him.

JK but that would be funny.
