Default TV/Films that have jumped the shark

    http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...umpingTheShark

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_the_shark

    Nominations:

Star Trek: Enterprise at first looked fresh/went with a fresh start but the quality went downhill after a couple of seasons. It used the appearance of the occassionally seen Andorians and the time travel concept in a desperate attempt to keep the viewers' interest and stay fresh. But it lasted a few seasons despite gimmicky attempts.

Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith, whose storyline was executed poorly. Anakin's epic downfall as a Jedi knight was used as a gimmick to keep the story fresh but it didn't do much for me.

"Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" lost the freshness of the Indiana Jones storyline, because it bears a lot of similarity to the first film.

Batman Returns fails to stay fresh, when the tone of the movie become too gothic, too grim, too gloomy for the audience.

    You didn't dare !!!!

But joke aside, i'm not sure "jumping the shark" really works with the examples you give.

Suggesting last crusade and not temple of doom invalidates your list.

X-Files jumped the shark when Mulder and Scully became an item.

Family Matters jumped the shark when puberty hit Steve Urkel and he, regularly, became Stefan Urquette.

Family Guy jumped the shark during any scene involving singing (with the possible exception of surfin bird)

Charmed jumped the shark when dudes started appearing on it

I feel the exact opposite, The last 2 seasons (especially 4) were head and shoulders above the first 2, over all.

I honestly think Sons of Anarchy jumped the shark at the end tonight. Everything was great up until the ending.

The first Batman series when they brought Joel Schumacher.

That 70's Show when Eric and Kelso left, and they brought a guy that was, but was not Eric at the same time. Should have just cancelled the show.

Chuck Austen's X-men when Archangel and Husk had sex in mid-air in front of her mother and their teammates.
That's right! Al Gore invented the internet, let's all go kick his ass!

I got your inconvenient truth right here, motherf*&¨%!

The entire fourth season of Angel. Pulled itself back rather spectacularly though.

I love Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade! Not as cool or original as Raiders, but funnier and more charming. Harrison and Connery worked well together and it's a damned shame they didn't get to again.

Revenge of the Sith was the best of the prequel trilogy IMO.

I thought Star Trek Voyager kind of jumped the shark a bit when the tiny USS Voyager could fight off multiple Borg Cubes and survive. When an entire fleet of Federation vessels and the substantially larger and better equipped USS Enterprise had trouble with just one.
Eh, Comics is a pretty cool guy...

I thought they jumped the shark when they used technobabble to wedge open the event horizon of a black hole from inside. So...episode 2?

I've never understood why people hate on Temple of Doom. It's a fun ride. It's not as good as the others, but hey, one of 'em had to be the worst of the trilogy.

Enterprise was just starting to....what's the reverse of shark-jumping....in the third and then fourth season. Finally they weren't just rehashing tired TNG and Voyager scripts with more grime and co-ed lotion rubbing thrown in.
