Lucy and Jimmy, wha--? How can anyone think this was bad--they were a wonderful couple. Not perfect--which was the beauty. Jimmy was always getting attracted to women way out of his league and Lucy was going after men old enough to be her father. Which is fun stuff to read. They didn't have a perfect love like Adam Strange and Alanna--but they were just kids, so it made sense that they were all over the map in the romance department.

I liked Lucy & Jimmy, but preferred Lucy and Ron.

AWFUL: GL JOHN STEWART AND SHAYERA (HAWKGIRL) Technically, this was from the JL animated series. I'm not a huge Hawkman fan but I despise adultery and this storyline not only promoted it

I'd hardly call that fair. If you're dating some one and some one else randomly comes out with "We were married in a past life.", are you really supposed to just buy that?

Well we can just chalk that up to Claremont i guess and she also looked sort of Jean Grey-ish in the issues they were actually dating (which were very few that i read)

Claremont was writing both X-Men and Iron Fist at the time, so both Scott and Colleen were his toys to play with. Plus Jean Grey and Misty Knight were roommates for a while (living in a fantastically expensive pad in NYC that must have been paid for by Danny Rand), so Scott and Colleen at least had an excuse for meeting. It would have been much more random if it had been Scott Summers and Sharon Carter, for example.

Actually, it was worse than that. Mantis married the green glowing corpse of the Swordsman, which was possessed by a sentient alien plant spirit.

I just don't buy some of this "new continuity" nonsense. If T.V. people are going to defy years of comic book continuity for the sake of a short range project\script-- and then they go: "GADZOOKS, let's bring in Hawkman but make him a "creepy stalker", then I fault DC a little bit by going along with it, because it damaged the Hawkman character. And if anyone who knows me is surprised by my using that expression ("damaged"), SO AM I!

I haven't read it in a while but you're right. BRRRR! I can just "hear" Domini Dracula (Domini Tepes?) saying: "NOW who's the necrophiliac?!"

I'd have to go with Donna Troy and Terry Long. Terry was a whiny loser of a guy who brought nothing of interest to the table. The icky "writer writing himself into the story as the love/sex interest of the hot, young woman" element put it completely over the top.

Just bad.

It could've been much worse: he was originally going to be the Thanagarian commander who tried to destroy Earth.
