The premise--a lone Jedi trapped behind Sith lines--is fantastic. Kerra Holt is even a fun character. It's just that nothing else works. The whole Sith story is needlessly complicated. There's what, five of them in the novel? Just narrow it down, simplify the plot and get on with the ass-kicking action.
Free your soul and let it fly....
I actually like the fact that his books have a little bit more depth and characterisation.
I'm halfway through reading Prepare to Die by Paul Tobin. It's about the life of a superhero as he faces being killed of by his archenemy. It's a great story.
Charlie Huston, who did Moon Knight and some other work for Marvel, has a lot of really good books. The Joe Pitt casebooks are great and the Hank Thompson trilogy might be my favorite books.
Today, I make no demands... no threats! But, one day, I shall voice demands -- and all shall obey them!
Crooked little vein by Warren Ellis. Absolutely nasty, but great fun.
