I'm not going to derail or pollute this thread with talk of Storm, but I know there are many educated posters who frequent this thread and have opinions on the character. There's a discussion about her suddenly appearing in X-Books after her exile from Wakanda and immediately causing trouble and trying to assume control.

Interesting thread, I was surprised to see T'challa mentioned as much as he was in it!

I don't celebrate Christmas either, but I am out of town visiting fam in Ohio while I'm on break. To all my fellow Wakandans, be safe and enjoy spending time with the ones you love. I'm sure as hell having a blast.

Btw, I had an awesome (and pretty profound) conversation with my comic-reading younger cousin about BP. It revolved around the social aspects/repercussions of supporting the character (he never quite understood why I do so passionately). But I broke it down... Thoroughly, lol. And he revealed some things that actually made a lot of sense from his perspective. I'll post the contents of said discussion a little later. I think you guys would enjoy it.

Also given how Bendis has been writing Ult. Comics: Spidey which has imo been consistently good/great/awesome would it be good to see him I guess "fix" what Leob did to the Ultimateverse version of BP or should at some point Humphries try to repair that damage or should we just all forget it was all even done as some of use do currently?

You, Kieran were one of Hudlin's biggest detractors yet you'd never even read anything he wrote featuring Ororo and T'Challa other than a few random scans posted in threads on CBR.
Under the circumstances, I think you're the last person who should have anything to say on the subject.
That is, anything worth taking seriously.

Was I even on these boards when Hudlin was writing T'challa??? I have little desire to read his story arcs, based on feedback in this thread and others, but I happily admit I haven't read enough of his work to be a "detractor" (RE: read only random page scans here and there). For all I know I'd like it. I didn't even start reading Black Panther until Doomwar (at which point I went back and read Priest's two TBPs). I'll even go one better... what's the arc with Doctor Voodoo in it, by Hudlin. I'll buy the TPB of that, and read it for you; so I can have an opinion on Hudlin's work. It can be my Christmas present to you.

I don't consider it cheating and I don't usually care what happens in AU stories (used to back wit AoA but that was my first and by the time Flashpoint rolled around I wasn't nearly as interested until they annoucned nu52). I don't think Pete cheated on MJ when his alternate self was with Gwen in HoM though he cut that out quick the second he ot his memories from Layla. I'm much more inclined to ignore and dismiss poor characterizations, absurd feats and possessions etc, then a lot of other people though.

I do agree that it was a bad move to just do mind wipe and move on. Something more should have been touched on (more of my problem with AU stories since they are always fixed then ignored) of course that would've meant less time for Rogue in in her solo Legacy book and we just couldn't have that. :rollseyes:

I quite liked that Namor wanted his mind wiped, because of Wakanda/Atlantis relations (how apt, considering what happened).

I think the ultimate line needs some juice. Maybe president cap calls king t'challa. He ain't been in the book, so he isn't dead or been killed at any point in the lines history I don't think?
