My evaluation thus far...
Based on the wittiness of his responses I think Hickman will do a wonderful job with T'challa but...
I am not yet convinced that he will be the one to take him to A-list status though.
I believe his intentions are in the right place and this will be something that at least keeps Black Panther relevant and out there in the public for now.
I don't anticipate him writing better than Priest or outselling Hudlin if he were given a solo title but many of the points he made we can only hope will be fulfilled.
The Black Panther is a tough sell whether you are a rookie writer or a bonafide "Architect" and the in office politics at Marvel can alter his direction at a moments notice.
What Hickman will have to learn by experience is that a black super hero comes with drama not normally associated with other characters and needs a little more TLC to succeed.
I had intended to TROLL hard in that thread as I usually do but so many peeps were enjoying the moment that I kept it to the minimal to not spoil the reputation of Black Panther fans anymore than has already been done in other threads that went south.
I hope that Hickman takes a look see in this thread every now and then so that he can consistently see how much Black Panther is loved by his fans who have stood strong in the face of adversity.
So what does the future of 2013 hold for Black Panther?
At some point after or during this New Avengers run I still hold firm to the concepts of...
Black Panther... Storm (Or Monica or Anywho)... Wakanda... Rogues Gallery... Period!
Black Panther needs to at some point after all the tie-ins, cross-overs, events or team-ups pay his own bills through excessive revenue generation and stand alone fortitude.
A "Point Man" is still needed regardless.
I gave Hickman a pass on the "King of The Dead" and the Amun-ra wisdom retcon because he showed a willingness to go all in on the questions and answers so ambushing him before we got to know him would be rude and probably a reason that it might chase him away from CBR... We really don't need a repeat of Mayberry because it does not allow for possible forgiveness, accountability or continual interactions especially in the holiday season.
At some point years down the line when Black Panther is so huge that we small following of diehards are but a drop in the bucket of millions of fans we can look back and smile knowing that we were ground zero on this future epic character getting his due justice.
Is Hickman legit or is he a pawn in the struggles that fall under Black Panther?
Yes and no.
But when it is all said and done each writer, editor or executive has to live with his or her own consciousness on this matter and life moves on.
Canon and continuity is everything in comics and we hope Hickman understands this as we live vicariously through our favorite characters in the world known as escapism.
Happy Holidays to Hickman, CBR and all citizens of Wakanda

BP popping up in Avengers #1 is great for the brand.
If Hickman's NA goes on for a couple of years with BP as leader, that would be amazing.
Has Marvel ever done an issue about Wakanda? Wakanda is an entire nation, there has to be other heroes/villains besides the ones we already know
