Seriously, I always though Madelyne would be revealed as Jean Grey? I remember as far back as the Paul Smith issue Scott was making connections - the plane crash was the same day as Jeans death or her turning into Pheonix. I forgot which. Maddy could have been Jeans Egg, she would have slowly gotten back her memories and powers and she could have raised Nate with Scott and no one would have come out looking bad. All sides would have been happy. The Pheonix could have just depowered a bit due to all the power it took to recreate Jean or she could have willingly given it up if that was such a big concern.

I wonder if Mr Brevoort's mangling of the X franchise and it's gradual decline is because he's a bad editor - or simply because he hates them?
