When the Cyclops thing didn't pan out, her world pretty much revolved around trolling Cyclops. Her whole character arc was still pretty much "I'm not Jean, I'm better."

How is that subtle?

Nothing was more flawless than her trying to murder her son and take over the world using demons.

And if Cyclops was so irrelevant, Claremont would never need to remove him from the picture for Stom to take over, no? His pet Storm would just be 2nd rate cannon fodder and/or a tool for Marvel to say "we have diversity in our ranks, thank you", as she is now that CC isn't writing stuff.

This post made my day. Seriously.....WTH is Cyclops, the angry white male equivalent of inane boring stupidity? I mean seriously, he is going back to those early days of Xfactor with his current stance and that makes him irrelevant. That's why he's an escaped felon who relies on Magneto and Magick to be relevant.

Oh, for crying out loud. I'm not saying this with the slightest hint of malice, but Claremont doesn't do subtle. Ever. Maddie was meant to be an hilarious, creepy prop for Cyclop's Exit Stage Left. Her defining story arc was that she wasn't Jean.

If anything, it's comedy gold.
