Batman, with Superman's powers, vs the League in Superman & Batman #56.
Proving that Batman with super powers and virtually no prep time can beat anybody.

This thread always makes me feel nostalgic.

But there have been a few good ones recently too.

Morrison's AC finale was two issues of Superman fighting just about every tough opponent he's ever faced.
Damian v. Heretic was a powerful showing

But Doomsday has to always remain as the measuring stick of one on one punch throwing brutality. Probably followed by Batman v. Bane as much as I don't enjoy the story.

The one I know most won't agree with me on is Dick v. Jason for The Cowl. The rest of the book is flat at times, but almost everything after the discovery of Jason's lair worked. Jason stabs Tim in the heart, and Dick fights him to the "death", it was suitably epic.

    Just an epic encounter.

Deathstroke's ambush of Dick Grayson in "The Judas Contract". It just felt utterly desperate.

Lots of great ones on this thread - love Simonson's Orion, love GDS, and a crapton more - but I happen to have this one uploaded and on hand, so...

I was thinking about the powerful fighting moves and of course I remembered the "Infinite Mass Punch". It is one of the most powerful fighting moves in the books, but it came from one of the worst fight scenes. How lame was JLA #1?

Just in case anyone thought I was professing love for everything Morrison earlier.

Have to agree with this. Just re-read COIE for the first time in a decade or so, and that fight is one of the highlights of the series, and definitely one of the greatest fights of the DCU.

Hal Jordan vs John Stewart in Green Lantern Mosaic. It was not only a great fight but it had a really creative use of the rings power (having a mental duel instead of a physical one) and it acted as a great insight to both characters.

Even though that is epic, that art is terrible. What is wrong with their faces?

I would be so pissed if I bought a Stelfreeze cover and opened the book up to see that it looks like that.

Oh, and best ever is Batman vs the SWAT team.
