    I could. Well IMO anyway

Whatever Happen to the Man of Tomorrow
    The Original Death of Superman
    Time and Time Again

That's just my opinion. All Star Superman was a great story non the less.

I've enjoyed more single issue stories than a lot of big story arcs.

Issues like Superman 195 where Superman finds himself traveling through deja-vu, were him and Louis put Einsteins time and space theory to use to try to figure out whats going on, and by the end time is spinning itself infinitely and the different variations of the same instances keep repeating themselves.

    My faves too.

I also like Death and Return of Superman, Spider-Man/Superman and Superman vs. Aliens.

I just feel bad that no one reads the OP...
Comics were happier before the Internet turned writing superhero stories into fruitless attempts to impress/entertain a small group of ppl who appear to hate comics and their creators.

Yes, there can be good and even great Superman stories without the man himself being in them. Funeral For a Friend/A World Without Superman all come immediately to mind, not to mention all the Private Life of Clark Kent stories, where he was Clark but not Superman.

There's a ton of stuff out there that's popular and not so popular. Sometimes, a gaze through back-issue's could get your craves going. Stories like Superman: Speeding Bullets was always a fun one for me. It's elseworld, but the story takes place with Superman's spaceship landing in Gotham City rather than Kansas and Clark eventually taking the cowl of the Bat for his destiny. Pretty cool and well written, quick story for Superman/Batman fans.

I guess to answer your question about good Superman stories without Superman being in it, a very underrated and not-well-known gem I can think of is "It's A Bird" by Steven T Seagle. It's a very unique take on the characterization of Superman in all of us.

I'll have to read Tom Strong, as I've heard a lot of good things. I hear Tom is a kind of Golden Age Superman inspired character. Is that true?

I've also heard a lot of people mention Wildstorm's Mr. Majestic. He was the Wildstorm version of Superman before Wildstorm was merged with the DCU. Majestic seems to have a good following, despite not being in print anymore. With the DC/Wildstorm merger, I guess he became redundant with Superman. I've heard a lot of good things about his series though.

Well Tom Strong is mostly a reinvention of Doc Savage, if I got it right. For all his superstrengh, he has some "high tech", and some sidekicks, and is generally not much like Superman (even the GA one), save for a few minor elements. I mean, there are some parts of inspiration, but the two characters are not that alike.

Tom Strong did remind me of Superman mainly because of Sprouses art. I never read Doc Savage, but the similarities between he and Superman pop up quite a bit on this board.

When I read Tom Strong he reminded me of the Fantastic Four done right. I think Hickmans run must be somewhat inspired, or maybe Strong had some Reed in him.

I think Reed Richards reminds me of Superman too for some reason. They both always made wacky gadgets back when.

Ahhhh, I see. Thanks Auguste! That sounds really interesting. I'll have to add it to my ever growing list of things I have to read. I like the idea of a reinvented Doc Savage. I've heard Tom Strong thrown around on some lists of heroes that takes some inspiration from Superman. So that's where my confusion came it.

The first 6 issues of this Majestic series with Casey & McGuinness had a nice Superman vibe to them:

Tom Strong is a sensational read.

Tom Strong is kind of a proto-Superman. It's like what if this kind of "science hero" came out of the pulp trend instead of the superheroes/Superman.

    Yes. That's it.

Do you remember the name of the other series he did where everyone was some kind of Superhero?
