king of humans too what the hell
Good point Atlantis like many things in the MU needs some serious fleshing out. Extinguish these burning plot holes pah-lease.
[QUOTE=jackolover;16200718]So why is a mutant their king?[/Q
Namor, the mutant king
Misleading title of the thread btw
Namor is the king of atlanteans because:
0) he is rightful heir to the throne
1) he's stronger than most atlanteans and humans, so nobody should f*** with him
2) he defeated Krang, Attuma, Byrrah, so anyone is free in trying to dethrone him
3) he constantly proved his worth while he ruled
And most importantly, Namor is the king despite being mutant, because HE feels responsible for his people, and because HE is the only one who can protect them from any threat. If atlanteans had any other king, they would be extinct by now.
And yes atlanteans are huge racists. In issue #54 of sub-mariner (from '72) there is story about the race of mer-mutants. Namor wants to give them home in his kingdom, but atlanteas behave the same way as humans towards mutants on the surface world. Sounds very X-men-ish, isn't it?
Say No to decompressed storytelling!
I don't think anyone could deny him, unless he wants his head on a pike on his throneroom ;)
You are missing the prime Avengers fan rule, Torture and Genocide are OK if Cap approves, Feeding the Starving is evil if Cap doesn't aprove.
