    Default Hitman: Absolution

after 6 years and a couple of delays, 47 returns to work

I've been a big fan of this series since Hitman 2: Silent Assassin was released on the consoles in 2002, and I actually went back and played the first title on PC

This game has 47 trying to figure out why his longtime handler, Diana, has betrayed the Agency and gone on the run

one of the better games of the series IMO and definitely better than Contracts...which was not that good and just a rehash of the original game

Same here. Really loving Hitman Absolution so far. Been with the series since Hitman 2: Silent Assassin as well. I went and played Hitman: Codename 47 shortly after I finished playing Hitman 2. I don't agree with you on Hitman: Contracts being a bad game. I thought it was a good game and only half the game was a rehash of the first one, not all of it. The other half was completely new missions.

Hitman: Contracts exists because IO was working on Hitman: Blood Money at the time which was supposed to come out around when Contracts came out. Hitman: Blood Money was supposed to be Hitman 3. IO were working on a new engine and putting all their effort into making Blood Money because they wanted it to be the best Hitman game they ever made and they planned on making Bloody Money their last Hitman game as their original plan was to do three Hitman games and then put it to rest as they thought people would get fed up with Hitman eventually.

IO had a buisness meeting with Eidos one day and said that because of how hard they were working on Blood Money development was taking a lot longer than they thought it would. Edios told them that only 10% of consumers who bought Hitman 2 had played the first Hitman game. IO wanted to get more people to experience the first Hitman game. So they decided to gather a small part of their team and make another Hitman game with some new missions and the most popular missions from Codename 47 using the Hitman 2 engine to fill in the gap while the rest of the team carried on working on Blood Money. IO managed to make a new Hitman game in just 8 months and Hitman: Contracts was the result of it. That's why they dropped the numbering after Silent Assassin.
From now on we're poison to you Spider-Man. That's why we call ourselves... VENOM!!!

I actually dislike this game a lot. It feels like they took away the freedom of choice and instead you have to follow a linear path. Not to mention, the quicktime level.

I'm sorry, but it messed with the formula too much and doesn't work.

um....you can dispatch targets a number of ways...straight kills, accident kills (my favorite), or silent kills...Ive been replaying the King of Chinatown to try and do all the different things

how is that linear? or am I not understanding?

MAny of the levels involve these long "Evade the cops" sequences and a lot of levels you have to enter the building the same way and there's a lot of guideline stuff. Some levels are fine, but levels like "buy a new suit", "Shooting gallery" and "the wrestling ring" just annoyed me because it breaks the games formula.

but you don't HAVE to do those things...the shooting gallery fits in the context of the story, but you can complete the mission in other ways

Im doing the Streets of Hope right now and there are about three different ways to take out each target that Ive discovered so far
