Unreasonable?

Ultimates 1: Ultimates vs Hulk. Managed to not go "America rah-rah" at all.
Ultimates 2: Ultimates vs Liberators. A clever look at the consequences of America's foreign policy. A pretty global theme.
Ultimates 3: Ultimates vs Magneto/Ultron/Doom/WTF? No America rah-rah at all.
New Ultimates: Ultimates vs Thor and Loki.
Hickman Ultimates 1: Ultimates vs The People taking over Europe.
Hickman Ultimates vol 2: Ultimates vs The People vs Tian. Set in Europe, America, and Asia.
Humphries Ultimates: AMERICA HOO-RAH! Full of OTT patriotism and wasted story potential.

Ultimates was a global story. Now it's so small-scale by comparison it's depressing.

I'm not saying it was great and I certainly think the scale of 1 & 2 was way better and defined the soul of what the Ultimates should be. All I'm saying is that I really don't think Humphries is trying to force a pro-America stance on anyone.

I'm just hoping that once we get past the Rebuild America arc that we'll get out of this patriotism mood they have set right now.

Again I find myself complaining about the sheer amount of "America F**K YEAH" that seems to have taken over the Ultimates.

What happened to the global politics? The multi-national threat?

As a non-US reader I'm feeling surprisingly alienated by this comic lately, and for the first time since I started reading comics, am considering passing on Ultimates. (Loeb annoyed me, but not in this exact way. Loeb alienated all people equally).

I find this happening in the 616 U as well - just take a look at Uncanny Avengers, where the team is led by an unholy trio of Aryan men.

Well Wolverine is Canadian, Thor is a God, Havok is a Mutant, so then you go with Captain America. :b

The problem here isn't the "America Fuck Yeah" but it is the execution, because at the end of the day, Ultimates 1 can be considered America fuck yeah as well, but truly as always, it's Nick Fury fuck yeah. God, what could Millar do with President Steve Rogers + Nick Fury concept.

I don't get the hate. This all comes at the heels of America falling apart and Washington being decimated. If there's ever a time for AMERICA FUCK YEAH! it's reunification.
