"Hawkeye" #4 from Matt Fraction and Javier Pulido is an old school Bond-style tale in Madripoor with neat twists and just the right amount of Madame Masque.

What. A. Cover.
I am sure you'll see a lot of posts from me in the past stating how much I am not a fan of Fraction. I thought he was decent but he certainly didn't impress me much if ever. This series has completely changed all that for me. Granted it's only 4 issues but this series has been just so spot on. If you aren't reading this and you like good comic books do yourself a favor and buy these. You will not be disappointed.
I'm enjoying the book but I have to set aside the feeling that this is a totally different Clint Barton than has appeared anywhere else. The casual attitude towards maiming and violence (and let's be honest, most of the people Clint's shot with his arrows as presented would be dead) doesn't set well on second reading...
While Aja is in a class of his own, I still adore Pulido for his storytelling abilities. Less flash, more style. He wields the good kind of comic book-y art.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!
If nihilism didn't take some delight in destruction one might suspect nihilists were an unnaturally morbid sort.

I thought I was going to have the same problem with the artistic change. Turns out, it fit the tone of the book really well and was very simpatico with Aja's style. This book is shaping up to be my favourite Marvel book.
Fraction has already taken out my "Fave writer" position. His past few series have all been wonderful (including Defenders :'( ) so I hope it doesn't drop any in sales.
Keep your fingers crossed that Hickman decides to do something with Nick Fury and the Secret Warriors after that series ends
