Default Kaiju: Giant Monsters, Giant Robots

I love these comics! I have Marvel's Shogun Warriors 1-20, Godzilla 1-24, and the two Avengers appearances of Red Ronin drawn by George Perez. I also have Ultraman #1 by Ernie Colon, the Ultraman Tiga ten-issue series by Dark Horse, and various 1990s Godzilla issues by the same company.

I do not own the Exiles issues that revisit Red Ronin, the new IDW Godzilla series, or any of the twelve issues of Ground Zero's Daikaiju (which are inexplicably omitted from the Slings and Arrows Guide). Any knowledge of any of these?

Inexplicably, I have no interest in the various Robotech series or Voltron. There's also one issue of Iron Man with a Godzilla stand-in that's better left forgotten.

Any love out there for the giant monsters or mecha?

IDW's Main Godzilla series, Godzilla Kingdom of Monsters and Godzilla are just kinda meh, but there mini's Godzilla Legends and Godzilla gangsters and Goliaths are good, and above all the Mini GODZILLA: THE HALF CENTURY WAR is Absolutly Fantastic, by far the best godzilla comic ive ever read and ive read most HIGHLY recommend it

^I can't wait for the Half-Century War trade, as the series looks great. I gave up on the main series (Godzilla nerd that I am) due to aforementioned 'meh'-ness.

The Dark Horse Godzilla comics were some of my earliest comics - and the ads for Hellboy and Concrete you could find in an average issue stuck in my mind: I'd become fans of both years later. Good memories!

My first experience with giant robot anime was Gigantor, which debuted on New York TV in 1964. Has that character or its Japanese antecedent, Tetsujin 28-go, ever appeared in American comics?

Kirby and Ditko's giant monster runs need a mention. I really wish these would be collected in one great big volume of awesomeness, but I'll live with Marvel Monsterworks and a slew of other reprint titles for now. At least Ditko's Gorgo is coming out in a volume soon, so looking forward to that.

One title I can vehemently recommend is Giantkiller by Dan Brereton. Great story and plenty of giant monsters to go around!
