I did get the zero issue and while I thought the portrayal of his parents was pretty fun I didn't expect to keep buying the series at that point, it was issue 13 that did it, just really fun vibes coming off that issue. I always thought Rocafort was wasted on Red Hood but he obviously works well with Lobdell and I love that they're bringing this awesome madcap over to Superman.
Action I've been buying off and on but lately I've pretty much resigned to just catching up in trades or on a comixology binge at some point when its all done and I'm curious enough to finish it off. I love Morrison but I'm just not clicking with Action; as single issues they don't leave much impression with me, I struggle to remember what happened before and overall the run doesn't feel like its really going anywhere. I don't feel like I know what it's about. Maybe I'm not reading it right, which is fully possible - happened the first time I read Doom Patrol - which is why I'll go back some day but for now there's too many other cool books to keep up with monthly.
Have to agree with Ferro it only gets better as you go. Hits it stride with an arc featuring Batman around issue 6 and recently a very cool twist in issue 13 has just switched up the whole direction.
