Default What are Spider-Man fans thankful for?

It's an easy thing to write, but I've seen a lot of columns about stuff that groups of people could be thankful for this time of year.

How about Spider-Man fans? What do you like about what the people at Marvel and Disney are doing with the character? This could be comics, film or anything.

And feel free to write up stuff that you like that other people may not care for.
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

    Three things.

    The Amazing Spider-Man films.
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have great chemistry. The first movie was solid. It's damning it with faint praise to say that it didn't flop, but we really could have had something with the quality problems of the Twilight films or Transformers sequels. The Green Lantern film shows that it's possible to screw up great superheroes. The sequels also seem promising. The potential of a straightforward The Night Gwen Stacy Died adaptation is incredible.

    Dan Slott
Probably the best Amazing Spider-Man writer since Roger Stern. And certainly in the top give with Lee, Stern, Dematteis and Bendis. Now we're at stage where he's providing the payoff to years of setup.

    The format
It really is so much better when the flagship title comes out more than once a month. And it means we get more Slott.

    Ultimate Spider-Man (comic book)
Brian Michael Bendis killed off Peter Parker, and replaced him with a new lead. And the book is still pretty damn good, providing the Ultimate universe with some new relevance.

    Dying Wish
I have no idea what's happening next, and that's pretty damn exciting. That first issue is going to go down as one of the best openings of any Spider-Man story.
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

    Ryan Stegman
His artwork on Scarlet Spider was amazing. Thank God somebody at Marvel realized he was a superstar artist and put him on the big book where he belongs.

    Dan Slott
I've been harsh on Danny boy's stories this year, and all his tired cliches(science deus ex machinas, repetitive supporting cast dialog exchanges, false drama in ill attempts to be clever, turning ASM into Marvel Team-Up, the abomination of Alpha), but I trust in Dan to hit more then he misses. He's obviously a man with a great deal of talent, and a greater love of Spider-Man then even I. The next year will be better, and I'll be right there to ride it out.

    Steve Wacker
When he's not being a snarky condescending internet troll(in a bizarre attempt to thwart OTHER snarky condescending internet trolsl), Stephen Wacker is the BEST editor that Marvel employs. Keeping ASM going like this, multiple times a month, is absolutely incredible. More importantly, he somehow kept 80 different titles and issues and stories going in Spider-Island, coming in every week on time, in chronological order. Also, he's editing two of Marvel's best books, DD and Hawkeye, so props to that, too. Now, hurry up and tell us where the HELL that Wells/Joe Mad Elektra/Spidey story is, please.

    Chris Yost

Now that he's on Avenging Spider-Man and gets to play with the Superior Spider-Man team-ups, this means Dan can stop with the MU guest stars every other story! Don't worry Slott, we got that hole covered for ya!

    Spider-Man

I'm thankful for Spider-Man, and all the men and women who went about creating stories with this character for 50 years. For better or worse, for good or bad, for Unscheduled Stop to Alpha, I truly believe Spider-Man to be the greatest comic book character of them all, and I will always follow his adventures in one form or another.

Spidey - My reason for getting out of bed on Wednesdays.

Dan Slott - One of the most talented writers ever to grace the pages of a Spidey book and an all-around nice guy.

Steve Wacker - Probably the best editor in the biz. And he's one funny dude.

Leftover turkey - Because I make a mean turkey salad.

Humberto, Paolo, Ryan, and all the other amazing artists who have worked on Spidey this past year. Truly great work.

After the fall I took last Saturday night/Sunday morning, I am thankful for even being alive.

I fell backwards out of my desk chair after falling asleep at my computer. I fell with my legs up in the air going head first into my big wooden desk that has all kinds of protrusions and such (an L-Shaped workstation if anyone was confused as to how I fell backwards and hit the desk), hitting with the base of my skull. People have died from taking hits like that. No concussion, but if not for my hair you'd see the whole backside of my head is one big bruise. Bruised, like my pride from falling in the first place. It felt like my head was nearly torn off. Still very sore now, some four days later. So yeah, I'd say that is a biggie to be thankful for.
