After last week’s excellent issue featuring Hippy Angel, Mystique, and the introduction of Sharktits, WaTXM shifts gears yet again with issue 21 and heads right back into wacky Mad Magazine style silliness. Frankenstein’s Monster’s murder circus has come to town and hypnotized the older X-Men into becoming freak-show performers so to draw in a crowd whose life essences are drained out by the circus ghouls. Or at least that's the plot that I was able to discern...
Meanwhile, Quire and the rest of the babysitter’s club find themselves at a seemingly abandoned Jean Grey School. Mercury gets a little screen-time, Eyeball Boy and Sharktits meet, and Rockside is sporting a neat new uniform.
The kids wonder off and find themselves at the circus, dumbfounded to see their teachers as performers. Rather than merely hypnotizing the X-kids themselves, Frankenstien’s ghoulies have the older X-Men attack them - choas ensues!
Elsewhere, Young Baron Frankenstein of the Hellfire Brats takes a break from trying to recruit Idie and heads into the circus to buy a corndog (what a twist!). There he meets his great grandfather’s creation and the issue ends on a double cliffhanger.
Also, Mudbug makes another appearance and gets one more line of dialogue than I thought he would…
