Default As we head into #700, I ask this question...Where is Mephisto ?

I ask this question due to most of the bad stuff happening to Spider-man, and also that I would love to see how Slott would do Mephisto's character. I would at least be satisfied that he "Showed" up in #700, showcasing that he'll play a small role in the ending of Amazing.

What do you all think of this ?

He's on one of the covers for #700. Along with a bunch of other Spidey villains.
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

    spoilers:
Seriously though if Peter's died, you think Mephisto will be wanting his soul or something. I doubt MJ rule to not touching him had any weight - he's a demon, they break promises all the time.

One of the terms of the deal was that he would leave Peter alone forever.

This doesn't really have anything to do with Mephisto.

If he's even aware of what's going on, he's probably happy about how hilariously screwed Spidey happens to be.

He's a no-show. Beyond OMD, he's not really linked to Spider-Man (other than, what, the Secret Wars II issue?).

And OMD doesn't really fit into the kind of story Slott's telling, so it would be a mistake to shoe-horn him in.

Didn't he specifically say he didn't want his soul, that he gained nothing from the souls of those who sacrificed for others...? That he only wanted their marriage since it was so pure it comes around only once per millennia (despite MJ cheating on Peter with that actor and Bruce Wayne)?

He actually "showed Up" in OMIT to explain the OMD changes.

And besides I still think that a part of Peter would enter the firey death's below given what he did.

I mean if Johhny Blaze taught us anything, its that you can't make a deal with the devil and expect to get away scott free.

In Journey into Mystery? At least he was.

Is this going to be a thing every hundred issues?
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

I think it's just a CMBMOOL thing. I think 2/3rds of his topics are about Mephisto. He is obsessed with this fictional character.

    The other 1/3rd being Spider-Girl.
