    Default Astonishing X-Men #56 Review/Spoilers: Karma's Crack

Liu and Perkins delivery a solid and emotional end to an intriguing (yet somewhat predictable) arc. Liu's writing is tight and focused. Perkins' art seems to be looking better, more animate, less sloppy. And the colors are most definitely light enough to see what is going on. This issue was certainly Karma-heavy; we even get heavy Karma! There was a little bit of a climax towards the middle, but it was interrupted by the X-Men actually succeeding in something.

    SPOILERS AHEAD

    Noteworthy plot points:
    • Iceman lives.
    • Susan Hatchi's plans are completely botched by Wolverine, Hatchi reforms, and then she and Shan's dad kills her in Shan's arms.
    • Northstar is starting to....feel, as Kyle points out.
    • Shan is a billionaire!
    • The rest of the X-Men do nothing.
    • Karma likes to wear low-rise undies.

Can a mod fix my title to put Review/Spoilers and the issue number (#56)? I fail at life. Thanks, Washout!

I liked the montage sequence of Karma's life, for the Phat Karma shout-out. Very well done, there.

That life montage must have taken up a quarter of a page

You're close, it was the left half of one page.

Raped by pirates, getting powers, being a New Mutant... Phat Karma... FIN.

Maybe if the right half wasn't used on Hatchi, they could have also featured her college years with Kitty, searching for her useless brother and sister, and getting her hair dyed pink with her lesbian friends.

That all wasn't horrible enough. Karma needed to make her life seem super shitty. I guess being friends with Kitty is pretty shitty, isn't it?

Leong and Ngo, forever backbinned to the annals of useless deadweight.

Word. Kitty is queen mother of all teases. She's a dick tease, a "lady dick" tease", a Best Friend tease (srsly that chick is besties with every friggin person ever, ever)

Spiral is the one who had 'em. When jaunts through the Wildways and space-time are involved, it's a tough search.

Now she has Face, instead, to be her dead weight.

I think Face and Chamber should be besties.

Leong and Ngang were just a metaphor for her sexuality.

Come to think of it, wasn't part of her "search" the domination of Tessa and taking her body for a spin through the Hellfire Club?

    Maybe Tessa wanted her to.
