Artists or writers. Who does the best casual scenes.
Fight scenes are a superhero writer or penciler's bread and butter, and a good dramatic argument or atmospheric horror bit are things most professional superhero handlers can do. But casual scenes, sitting at the breakfast table, or lounging on the sofa in front of the TV scenes take, in superhero comics, a special writer or artist to pull off and keep them interesting without trying to turn them into action sequences.
A third or more of Hitman is guys sitting on barstools and it was awesome. Warren Ellis would do a chilling in a hotel room scene or a let's go to the bar story in Stormwatch and it was intriguing even if it didn't explode into violence or move "the plot" along. Duncan Fegredo can draw two people lying on the sheets together like nobody's business. Some of my favorite Superman moments are just Clark and Jimmy talking or Lois and Clark flirting.
Who does'em best and where (and, naturally, why)?
