To paint comic books as childish and illiterate is lazy. A lot of comic books are very literate - unlike most films.

Ugh - Nova Prime decides he's sick of this crap and country-busts Isreal and Russia? You don't need 2 of 3 anything when you've got a superspeedster who can solo-waste Annihilation Wave divisions, rip an amped and charged Annihilus inside-out and put up a (losing, but not insta-loss) fight against the Silver Surfer.
Another nasty here would be Beast - he could just tailor a virus that targets who he wants to target (um, Isrealis and heavy Vodka-drinkers?). He WOULDN'T do that, but he could.

Unexplored in the MU is the really intensive research the Israelis would engage in to live in the MU universe. Yeah, there was Sabra but you think their scientists would be turning out Iron Man suits, cosmic cubes, and ultimate nullifers. Magneto would probably be an agent.
