Lookin' pretty buff there, Ashton
Nuts to everything else: where's the spit-curl?
A robotic journey toward the American Dream: MADE in USA.
We really sure that poster is official? The picture quality sucks and I believe that's just a screencap of a frame from the trailer. The background lens flare, the bevel effects on the text at the bottom, it looks really cheap. I think content wise it's a fantastic poster, it just looks like something Photoshopped as opposed to an official image release.
I dislike it. For one it's really bad poster thematically for Superman. Captured by the army? In simple handcuff? Doesn't really work.
For two, it's poorly done, too dark and a little out of focus.
Well, I have to say I expected more. It is an image took from Comic-Con's footage. I'm guessing it will appear in the upcoming trailer.
And I agree, Tra-El, we've been deprived for too damn long.
... The Master Of Puppets has spoken.
Goodbye León (november 16th, 1993 - june 12th, 2009). You were, are and always will be the best friend I ever had. I will always love you and never forget you. And please, please forgive me.
Thank you for teaching me about love, patience and caring. Rest in Peace, my friend. I hope that wherever it is you are now, you can run and play as much as you want.
It's not an actual poster, guys. We won't be seeing it on any billboards, it's just a promo still.
Zzzzzzzzzzzz... The poster! The poster! The new poster, sweetie... What, what...oh, merde, lets see... Eh....Zzzzzzzzzz
It does just look like a still. Could've been better, little too dark and blurry in parts, that and the lens flare. But it is an official picture, this is the reward we unlocked. Its pretty much what I expected, we'll have to wait till the Hobbit for a good look at this movie, and even then it could just be the Comic con trailer, that most of us have already seen leaked online (albeit pretty blurry and muddled looking). I think and hope that it will be a completely new trailer, it's been like a half a year since that teaser, I'm sure they've done a good deal of post-production, and some awesome CGI-heavy shots are ready. Something to really win over the masses and convice them that superman can be awesome again.
Pull list: Animal Man, Action Comics, Aquaman, Batman, Batman Inc, Detective Comics, Green Lantern, Justice League, Ravagers, Superman, Swamp Thing
It works perfectly on a thematic level, in my opinion. As Scott Snyder and others have said in the past, Superman is a character whose themes are all about identity and the power one demonstrates through restraint. With this poster, we not only see that a just debuted Superman must deal with inevitable public distrust, but that he deals with this threat by willingly submitting. While Superman does work entirely as a Christ analogue, his stories often evoke Christian imagery. This new poster, for example, reminds me of images like this one:
Both Superman and Jesus are capable of resisting captivity and persecution yet they refuse because there is something more important at stake. In order to encourage people to trust and accept them, they must demonstrate their willingness to submit and suffer.
Ahh. We have already seen this before, for a few months now this picture has made the rounds. They couldn't come up with nothing new or maybe a special online only trailer.
So yes, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
