Justice League Movie: What would you do?

I'm sure all of us are aware now that Warner Bros. has tried to make a Justice League movie(with the failed George Millar-directed Justice League:Mortal) and now they plan to make another attempt to make it so it can be released in 2015. Now, a lot of people are probably worried since this new Justice League film could possibly be considered a "rip-off" of The Avengers, and my question for you all-knowing comic book fans is: What would you do for a Justice League film? By that I also mean, what comic book storylines would you use for the plot? How would you make it different than The Avengers? Which League members would you want to see in the roster? Who do you think the villain(s) should be? I hope we have some fun with this thread!

Well then I guess I might as well give my opinion, the only thing I have is the plot which would be a mix between The OMAC Project and Tower of Babel! What do you guys think? Any other comic book storylines you guys would recommend?

I could see elements of 'The OMAC Project' being a great film. I'd build up to it though. Have Maxwell Lord as a background character throughout the films, have Batman's growing distrust shown. Just imagining Superman and Wonder Woman throwing down against an army of OMACs is pretty cool.

it has to feel different to avengers. it has to capture the iconic, mythic dc feel, as opposed to the soapy, "realistic" marvel style.

the fact that Nolan has his hands on Man of Steel and success of Nolanverse of batman triology im guessing they will be going for "realistic" style for JLA it worked for batman but at the same time i was disappointed in a comicbook fan view.

In my mind I wld set This story in a different Timeline as the MOS trilogy.That way neither stories disturb each other.MOS trilogy will feature stories about a rookie superman in a world with no superheroes,JLA will feature a veteran superman leading a world of superheroes.It will of course have the Realistic feel

MY IDEAS FOR JUSTICE LEAGUE MOVIE PLOT

Supermans dead at this time and diverse superheroes have begun to pop up.The World quickly begins to distrust and fear this superheroes,largely due to the Hyperclan,a group of 7 Alien beings who are secretly disgussed as World leaders manipulating the Public opinion on Superheroes.

The Hyperclan succeeds in painting all Superheroes as threats and this leads to the world government leaders sponsoring the creation of OMACs(using discarded kryptonian tech form the Zod invasion 4 yrs ago) to hunt down,Capture and if necessary kill other Superheroes.Superheroes are forced to go into the hiding.The Hyperclan is using the Omacs to establish totalitarian rule of earth under the disguise of protecting the world from superheroes.

This are very dark times.

But theres hope.

Superman the one superhero the public trusted,returns from the dead and gathers Batman, Wonderwoman ,Flash and Gl to form the Justice league-a group of heroes that lead a resistance movement that protects Superheroes,fights against the Rising of the evil Government and seeks to expose the Hyperclan-They fight for freedom and Justice.

Through the course of the story they find out more about the Hyperclan-They are a group of 7 Martian warriors who have been on earth for thousands of earth.They have been working behind the scenes orchestarting human history-we find it out they were responsible for the end of the age of mythological heroes and now they seek to end the age of superheroes.

After defeating the Army of Omacs and exposing the disgused Hyperclan members-the time for the Leagues Final battle comes.We discover that the Hyperclan have been using alien tech to extract powers from captured superheroes.They gain superpowers that makes them a match for the league(prior to this time they were just shapeshifting aliens.They had no other powers).The final battle takes palce at the Whitehouse with the Hyperclan vs the League.The League however gets a suprisng help from one of the Hyperclan members-Jonn Jozz who has secretly been helping the League all this while.So the League with the help of Jonn Jozz defeats the Hyperclan.

So the good guys win but its not over.In the after credits scene we discover that the Hyperclan were actually summoned from mars by ancient Immortal - Vandal Savage.And he hasnt given up yet...........onto Justice league 2.

I'd keep the roster pretty small. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (John Stewart if I could manage it), and Flash. Depending on a few variables that would likely be out of my hands, I would consider adding one or two more, like Cyborg and/or Canary. I'd also, and it surprises me that I am saying this, look into getting the "Arrow" actor as well. That show, done in the Nolan style, is amazingly good for its network, and tonally fits with the Nolan approach WB/DC seems to be trying out. I can see that guy standing next to Cavill's Superman or Bale's Batman (yes, I know he's done). Im not saying its something I would absolutely do, but it might be worth looking into.

The main antagonist? A big part of me actually wants to use Starro. Done with an "Aliens" Grant Morrison type approach, I think it could work and be scary as hell. Less purple starfish and more greenish-gray tentacle monsters. It opens up a good chance to introduce the characters we have not seen on screen yet via possession, gives us some fun fights as heroes try to free their controlled allies, and the Starro face-huggers create a fun problem where the League cannot simply punch the problem away.

As for not ripping off Avengers....its something I wouldnt worry about. Avengers was done in the Marvel method, while DC is pushing the Nolan approach. Assuming Man of Steel works, that pretty much cements that style as DC's and a JLA film would follow suit. That alone makes it different from Avengers. And beyond that, I would worry more about telling the best League film I could, and less about whether or not people will see the parallels between two team franchises.
