Brevoort posted this on his formspring. He says that the main idea was the same, with only small changes (like no Hexmen or extra phoenixes)

Looking at this makes me think that Scott was never supposed to come out as being right like he did in the actual AvX.
It seems like they kept making small changes, and eventually the story they told was not the same story they wanted to tell.

Capt. Falling last.. I"m guessing would be motivation for Hope and Wanda to take down Scott.

Damn, that's what I wanted to see; more Magneto and Wanda, and Magneto and Hope. Remember Magneto's interaction with Hope a few years ago, when he was in the infirmary? I've wanted to see some follow up to that. So, instead of Magneto going from Utopia -- after Emma threatens him -- directly to the Avengers (which would have been logical given his thinking at the end of VERSUS #1) to warn them, he goes to Xavier instead? Instead of a Magneto/Wanda moment, we get Magneto and Xavier? (And not even any real interaction between Magneto and Xavier; it jumped directly to the battle.) Aw, shoot. (But I did like Magneto in the AvX that we did finally see published.)
