There's a few dead characters in those pictures...
Next Wednesday: Avengers 14, Dream Thief 2, New Avng 7, Sup Spidey 12, Uncanny Avng 9
Spider-Man from the beginning! Last ish: ASM #15 - Chameleon hires Kraven (first appearance!) to kill Spidey.
So...what's with those pictures? Xavier, Cassie, Patriot and many others are on there and I don't suspect Marvel will be using them soon.
Rom the Spaceknight is among them.
So? Does it matter to the story? There's a few dead characters in those pictures...
Well, does anyone know when is this supposed to take place? Is it after the new Marvel Now books get going, or in some split future that separated prior to Second Coming, Fear Itself and AvX?
Other characters in weird "continuity":
Bucky Barnes (wearing a Cap outfit)
Nightcrawler (does not look like the AoA version)
Ms Marvel is not Captain Marvel yet
He also has a that reads "Check with Xavier"

Pulling: Batman, Batwoman, The Cape, Daredevil, Fatale, Luther Strode, The Strain
I'm guessing, rather than the dated info on the photos indicating editorial slips or a dated script (its long gestating, but not that long when you place some of the peices to the puzzle), that there is some kind of time travel involved here. Either this particular scene is in the past (look at the technology in the room too) or there was a change in the past that has created the current situ or dimension. Like with Age of Apocalypse. It would be a little bit 'Flashpoint' if we didn't know this was planned before Flashpoint/New52, and it begs the question if it has been delayed to distance itself from that.
But really, who knows? All I care about is that it doesn't get in the way of the regular titles that I'm getting. Money is tight for items like comics, and I dont want to invest in buying Marvel Now comics just to have it all wasted by cash grab events that try and force me to buy other comics that I just wont be buying.
I'm still deciding if I want to get onto the Hickman Avengers train because as much as I loved his FF/F4 it was a little removed from the events, whereas Avenger books will be integral for the next few years. And I just dont do Events
This looks like it could be continuity hilarity. At best I'll trade-wait this one.
Schmitty's Evil Twin.
Wait, that picture board is the skrull invasion chart.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!
There's also a "?" I hope this isn't like Bendis' last alternate-reality story (which they claimed wasn't an alternate reality), where he just created a new character to simply act as the deus ex machina.
Strange that he's got real names for some of them and not for others (Parker, Ross, Wanda...)
A lot of those characters in the picture are dead (even before AVX Cassie Lang and The Sentry were dead) and some don't flat out exist in 616 anymore (Marvel dont have the rights to ROM anymore, so I'm surprised that they even named him in the picture).
That being said, I don't know how Marvel are going to handle the Bryan Hitch part of the story when it was clearly written about 2 years ago (the picture with Ultron holding Iron Man was clearly re-colored to reflect Iron Man's black and gold NOW armor).
Adults struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life when the answer is obvious to the smallest child: because it's not real. - Grant Morrison
