But yeah, you should definitely try this book. Issues 0 & 1. Colourful high fantasy fun.

Just bought and read issue #0.

Damn. It looks like I'll have to get issues #1 & 2 next time I go back to the shop.

    And for retro-geeks:
Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I recently reread the series in the Showcase Presents volume, and I think Colon's amazing art was probably the finest of his career, too. He wasn't afraid of having blood drip off an axe, Taffy sink her teeth into the pack leader's throat, etc. He really made it feel like a fully realized, beautiful but dangerous world. Something got lost when Ric Estrada took over the art for the ongoing-- not that it was bad, just not quite as strong as what Colon had done.

Big mistake. So instead of "don't-take-it-seriously" camp, we get rote action. It's decent enough, but there's got to be so much more than a standard issue middle-ages swordfight.

Getting a more exciting art style on the book might help.
